Why NOT to buy things from your local dealership.

So I have been gathering parts for my suspension. I have almost everything here.
Only thing I am now looking for is m3 control arm bushings.

I ordered it from the dealership, it was 380 CAD  I got a buddy to order it in for me, so I didnt realize how expensive it was.

I was hoping I could cancell it, since the order just went in yesterday.

BMA gave me a price of 84 US plus express shipping charge of 16 USD. That's less than half the price including shipping and taxes and all the other BS charges for gettin it flowin into Canada.

I call my buddy today, he says that the CAB from the dealership is un-cancell-able.

So pretty much, my poor judgement and lack of patience with getting my stuff has caused me more than 200 dollars.

I hope everyone here are not as stupid as me.

    the end.

PS - the more i think about this, more i get pissed off. 200 dollars is full 2 days of me at work. So pretty much I worked a full 2day, then decided that I would just take the money earned and flush it down the toilet.

    :D

At the dealership, for anything that expensive, you have to pay for it up front.

At the dealership here, it's anything over $20.

not all dealerships are ripoffs. I buy all my parts from dealer, and its the same or cheaper than bma.

My dealership charges over double the price than online sources. Rediculous.

my dealer is pretty cheap. Some parts they are crazy with and some parts they are cheaper the murrays etc. Like when i was buying tie rod ends i paid like $60 for both at this local import parts store when the dealer price was the same....

Agreed. I will only consider the dealer if all other options have failed. Simply too pricy.

^^ becuase im going to be going back to that same dealership. I don't wanna be on their lil black list.

I suppose all the deals that i have gotten in my life.... I have to pay the price sometimes, and get the rip-off.

(im trying to make myself feel better)

Well what if you just tell them something came up and you don't have the money? Are they going to reposses your house because you didn't pay for the frickin bushings?

He does have a point, i would say something came up and you would still like to do business with them hence why you came in to tell them and not avoid them.
