I wonder why they choose this engine though? It must be for the unique-ness, or the fact its so over the top.
CardCounter made 980WHP with a 2.8L m52, which seems like it would be cheaper, easier to fit, take up less room, easier to cool, lighter, etc.

I guess the area under the curve is worth the extra effort/cost. Obviously a twin turbo v8 with larger displacement will spool quicker and have more torque off boost than a similar HP s50/s52/m52.

A 980whp M52 would not be long-lived in any sort of non-drag-racing situation.
