    So some e30's...

Do some e30’s have a cover over the jack on the left side of the trunk? Sort of like the battery cover? I think I remember seeing something else on that side of the trunk in a euro M3.

    Anyone have any pics?

I've never seen such an item on any E30 before.....at least not in the US cars. Perhaps it was offered in cars bound for other markets?

it's not a cover, it's a plastic storage tray. if you don't have one then it's missing.

Really? I've never seen one and I've known this car since it rolled off the showroom floor. I'd love to see a pic too, I can't find one in the ETK.

not really worth taking pictures of.. it's black plastic, about 6" deep, 20" long and 11" wide

Those dimensions sure sound like the battery cover, the jack area is only like 2.5" wide.

I have it right in front of me, it's definetly not a battery cover ;)

maybe only later cars came with it? or maybe only certain cars came with it standard.. you have to remember how optioned out most ix's were.

I dunno, 12/89 build 325is here, loaded as it can be.

I'd call the dealer and ask but they'd ask me what an E30 is.

All e30 M3's came with that (option or standard, I don't know.) Wasn't an option for other e30s. Don't know about the iX.

That's happend to me before. Too funny.

I've heard the same thing happen to E30 M3 owners. Some guy went to the dealer for a part for a '89 M3. When the parts guy asked what year/model is the car, car owner says "1989 M3." Parts guy says: "That's impossible....M3s only go back to 1995." Car owner says "I've got proof that you're wrong parked right outside."

Yep....those dealers are right on top of things

I've always wondered how the IX handled. I mean... 4wd understeers a little doesn't it? just curious what kind of difference there is in its performance vs. the I models.
