So what do you think, brodee, now that you own one and have been driving it for a while?

I am thinking about getting one, that's why I ask.

          And?

The question is still valid. The guy bought an M3, after initially saying it wasn't impressive. So I'm wondering what changed his mind, how he likes it, etc. It's easy to get positive reviews on the M3 from someone who already likes it. But Brodee actually changed his mind on it, so something about it must have been good.

Nice thread bump. That is a good question. Perhaps he came across a good deal? perhaps the car he drove was tired and he found another in good condition? S14's are pretty raw engines. They need to be kept up/looked after unlike an M20 or M50. For instance, I thru some cams, evo throttles and header on my M3 before going to a dynoday in Santee. I was expecting at least 190rwhp and got 155! So, I left thinking my engine was worn, etc. Shortly after I installed Maxx Alpha N and while testing the TPS I could see that with the accelerator pedal floored I was only getting 60% throttle! Turns out the throttle cable had too much slack and needed adjustment. Went to dyno again and got 209rwhp. So M3's need to be taken on a case by case basis.

If I bought an m3 for some reason I'd sell the little s14 and
put in the correct s50 motor :)

Ok, I didn't see the bump on this thread so I'm going to revive it again. The one I drove I think was worn out. I started looking for one without a motor or with a blown one and planned on putting in an s50. The one I bought I got a great deal on and the motor was all apart. Since it came with all the parts to put it together I went ahead and rebuilt the s14 and went that route.

So, my opinion now? I love the car. They are something you have to get used to. Driving them once doesn't really impress but the more you drive it the more you get the feel for how it needs to be driven. Mine is all stock motor wise but I've done a lot to the suspension to build it as an auto-x car. I think I've been very successful running it. I've won my class 5 out of 7 events this year and wrapped up enough points to take 1st on the season with 3 events left. I've also finished in the top 5 overall a few times against some very tough competition. The car has surprised me and I think a few other people.

Putting all that aside, just walking out in the garage and looking at the car still gets me excited, it's just a bad ass car and I don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon. I still like to drive other cars and own 5 more, but this is by far my favorite ever.

You just about said it all. I love my M3 and everything about it, especially the s14.

Until about 6 months ago, I never thought that I would own a white car. I always liked the bolder colors, but the more I looked at it, the more I saw that the white really brings out the lines on this car. It doesn't "wow" you in photos unless you have just the right settings and a very good camera, but when you see it in person it's amazing.

I always wanted a black one, almost bought one. Now I love the white. At first I wasn't sure about the flags on mine but now when I see them without them they look plain to me.
