i dont mind newer bmws or newer cars in general... but i certainly wouldnt own one without a full warranty. BMW's warranty is great, for 4 years they cover everything including oil changes. But you can bet that at 3 years ad 6 months this thing is getting traded in on another new car.

that was my thought when i bought this as a CPO car. but then the warranty expired and i just wasnt ready to buy another car. oh well. i guess fixing them is cheaper than a 700 dollar car payment monthly

My friends moms e46 M3, at only 22k just had the hydraulic shifter or whatever that shifts for the DSG or whatever, go out and its like a 3k fix. BMW wont even pay for it to be fixed they will only pay for the part. And they are replacing the rod bearings and some other shit.

The e46 is such a piece of shit. And chris bangle can die in a firey blaze for making the completely doit and regular looking e90, that thing looks like every other car on the god damn road.

I like mine... E30s aren't exactly the ideal car for the occasional business trip and rentals are a PITA. But I guess if everyone lives to drive E30s solely, then they can make do. My next car down the road may likely be a E90. I like them a lot.

A newer BMW just comes with an implied cost of running it. God help those who buy a newer one (or a car in general) and can't afford to keep it up. I've had shit go wrong with all my cars at some point, outside of my Acura which mysteriously never had anything go wrong even at 215K+.

haha e90. Not saying I can afford one. Even if I could I'd never buy one. Looks like a honda accord with bmw badges.

New Audi > New Bmw > New MB.

Or just get her a Forrester, fast turbo wagon :)

Something about all of them comming prewired and all you need is to buy the switch and plug in the heating element thats under the seat and wiring power to it. Don't know if it was like that from the M20 and M30 cars but the M50s all supposedly have them.

Get your wife a TSX, I like those and actually considered getting one as a daily. Pretty fun for a 4 banger FWD sedan. Not as common like the accords, civics and TLs either. I had a first gen. TSX as a loaner from Mercedes and I enjoyed it, didn't even use up the tank of gas like I always do either and I was driving everywhere.

Haha, my gf has a 2000 camry too. Just did the brakes (looked like the first time ever!) last night.

my friend's family has owned two Acuras, he says the only time he can remember one being in the shop was when his dad managed to get "4 gallons" of water into the engine.

I doubt the FOUR GALLONS part, but who knows, his dad's kind of stupid.

                            Get a TL

You should be able to see the connectors, my car has them but I haven't bothered to hook it up. I will try to find the post at .info for you.

yeah, makes sense. But I don't want both my cars to be as old as me and without some of the nice touches a E39 has. Sure, one could polish it up nice, but E30s are still turds in comparison to smoother looking modern cars. And you could install all the modern features I want but then you have an E30 that costs as much as a newer BMW with none of the resale.

She should have a TSX or something. A few co workers have TLs and they are nice enough cars. You have to love BMWs to keep them up. I've been in more BMWs than I can count and fell for the E39 years ago and was set to get one. But Acura's are fine too and not like your wife cares as much as the average person on this site does.
