You should've replaced the control arms in pairs, and replaced the control arm bushing. Good thing that you replaced the tierod, but you basically wasted your time replacing the right control arm only. One more thing that you should replace that many people over look sometimes are the sway bar links. They're really cheap and easy to change.

m3 solid offset bushings are like $40 a pair but i think you need a shop to press them in. could your spacers be funky. my fiennces e28 had a chronic shuder while braking we replaced everthing but the wheel bering never went away.

i dont think its my wheel spacers, i think its my wheel bearings and bushings thats doin it conciderin the stuff probably has 212xxx miles on it and no previous owner ever replaced. so i think im looking at many things that will need replacement soon.

id "borrow" a set of proven wheels from a friend and run them for a day. It would be a shame to throw gobs of cash at the car only to find out you had a bent wheel, flat spots on the tires, or funky hubcentric spacer issue.

damn i was gonna say that but my ps3 froze and i didnt feel like typing it over again lol.

my fiance's car has a shudder at freeway speeds but not under braking like ours do. i hope mine stops when i put my stuff on. if not maybe we both need wheel baring kits.

It's not a bearing/bushing/control arm/balljoint problem. You have a problem with your wheels or tires (balance, centering, or excessive road force in some spots on your tires).

does the shudder feel any different than before the work? does it still clunk when you turn the wheel? did you try jimmys wheels yet? am i asking to many questions?

A shudder is 99% always caused by a rotating assembly with a substantial amount of mass such as a wheel, tire, or during braking, a rotor. An easier test would be to swap the tires front to back and see if it feels any different.

hahaha, i like the one about the ps3 freezing, but havent tried anything yet on my car cause jimmys car is still in the shop because his power steering bracketg broke. but as soon as he gets it back im gonna throw his wheels on my car and see if i still shake. and my wheel shakes on freeway just cruzing too not only under brakning i realize.

I am gonna call bullshit on this.

My car shuddered like a dog shitting a peach pit while braking.

My rotors were nasty ass drilled VERY worn pile of shit ebay junk.

We are talking grooves, warps, just fucking shit.

All I did was swap control arm bushings, as in AKG urethane non-offset.

My shudder went away 100%, as in GONE, with no other changes.

Think of the physics of braking forces acting on a control arm, and how much stress is placed on the CABs

The owner of AKG will gladly tell you that the E30 suffers from a poor front suspension design, and that the urethane bushing ALWAYS fixes the dreaded "brake shudder".

Try it, you will be shocked.

I have a shudder and my car has urethane bushings. I'm actually getting a little worried about it, but I'm pretty sure that its something to do with the brakes. I've got e30 m3 control arms, weaves, and new bearings. I wouldn't rule out the bushings, because I haven't lubed them (supposed to lube every 2k) but my question is how can I know.

                                Sorry to thread jack
