retail sucks to start. i am now 18 years old and summer 2007 i started working in a shop and i absolutly hated the boss. it was a small shop and i never really took the job serious because i felt like it was not worth all the shit i took from my boss even though he paid me without question. 2 months later i got fead up an asked to leave all the time, one day he asked me why i would ask to leave everyday and i simply said i hated him and cant stand working here. he told me theres the door feel free, i left with a huge smile on my face. i got a job at a loval CVS and i worked with all my friends it was great until the manager started walking over me and i didn't like it. about 6 months later i got fead up with that and started looking for another job. i found one is valet parking at catering halls and stuck with that (april 08 to current) and then in june 2008 i got word from a friend that my old boss was looking for me and wanted to know if i wanted to work again. i went in on a fresh slate and started working, i still to this day go to work and barely even talk to my boss, he is so hard to get along with. he tells a close friends of mine that i am more mature and dont mess around as much as the previous summer to i feel like i have a steady job. even though it is still not much money, i look at it this way im still in school and i have another job of valet so i manage to servive my monthly phone bill and my gas cost and my car hobby and of course my tool addiction. well thats my job story from the past year. now its time to go to bed so i can get to work at the shop at 8

Retail store managers are notorious for being bitches. I am a supervisor at a retail store and have met a lot of managers. I think i have met one in my whole district that isn't a crazy monster power whore. My buddy works at a different store and i know he is a good worker. Just got fired because the manager their and him had a "Personal" confrontation. He got set up and everything. The manager told everyone that he was trying to find a new job and put in his two weeks notice before he fired him. He was a really good worker and everyone loved him so he had to lie so they didn't get pissed. (now there is only 1 supervisor there running photo poor guy).
So while YES the problem could be you, maybe who knows, but i will also agree retail managers are breeded to make employees lives harder. The key is to make sure they know they need you. But you gotta get through the trial period first. I fuck up ALL the time my job will never be in danger because for now i am needed. But not even my luck will last forever so i am starting to shape up lol.
