So you're saying I'll get money out of it? Cool!

Loyalty isn't something I pledge to "teh intarweb forumz" so I'm cool with that.

No thanks on the Swedish iron, I use a GE and it gets the wrinkles out just fine.

I freakin love euro's. And I think any person who is genuinely interested in cars can appreciate good hard work. I have no doubt in my mind that someone who runs a 9 sec 1/4 mile in a NA honda has put TIME into that car. And I respect them for that.

High compression engines have a sexiness to them, but turbo engines have their own brand of sexy included. And on a whole different level, supercharged engines sound very nice as well :)
noted :p. I guess you can't really say anything bad about the volvo community vs the e30 community. Since we both borrow parts from each other and unless your car is from Norway/Iceland it isn't going to be super nice. Unless your Mariano or Vlad of course. :giggle:

Haha, ya know most RWD cars can go sideways ;-)

I'm mostly saying, the whole my car brand is better than yours is kind of old now.
I see this guy in a 1.8T Jetta all the time, on some BBS LM's and has the same brakes I do (Porsche BBK big reds). I get next to him at a light the other day (not intending to race) and I honk my horn a bit for him to look over... this dude WILL NOT look over. His car looks awesome and I find it funny that he won't even look at me.

Why have a great lookin car if you don't want to take the accolades for it?

I can't find it, its an 80's volvo turbo drifting around two buildings and doing figure 8s around them.
550, you know what im talking about?

This is classic. I love that their 2 ton cars have those cute little turbos.

Do they really even produce substantial power? I mean they have to spool at like 2k and stop producing power at 4k for how small they are.

Somebody school me on old volvo power. . .

Other than that. It looks pretty good but I can't wait until these guys look at the retail on a genuine M Tech 2 valance and bumper. Its going to be hilarious when all of them say they're gonna do it and then they will get a wiff of pricing

They produce decent power. Listen, anyone with any kind of money can make most any car quick/fast.

I guess I will have to accept the fact that no matter what there will always be ignorant people in the "scene". It's sad honestly. We have something pretty genuine interests in common but you would rather take pot shots at the weight of the car and condescend the small "cute" turbo. Some people say the GT28rs is small and cute too, but can make some wicked power on the right engine.

Regardless of that, there may have been a few people saying they would do it. But as we ALL know the internet is all about talk. It's very easy to talk on the internet about what you plan to do. It is how you get ideas for what you would like to do. Oh yeah, and we didn't "all" say we were going to do it.

Besides it obviously isn't that hard to find a knock off...

Meh, I am not a brand snob. If it isn't FWD and made to shitty standards then it has promise. And shit Volvo's are nice cars last time I checked...

I still like my E30 loads better.

I really didn't for this to become a battle of e30 vs. Volvo.

My friend just posted pics of this Volvo 242 on that forum & he sent me the link to check it out. I was perusing through that forum & saw that 'M-Tech II...' thread & decided to scope it out & share the news with the R3V guys.

A member local to me actually painted his block red on his turbo car to commemorate the Volvo he had been DD while he was doing the turbo build. haha.

No disrespect bro I was just talking shit. I understand that with the right setup, any car can be very cool. I just am not a huge fan of the cars and that bumper really doesn't fit the car IMO.
