Air Induction Systems, Voodoo, and simple test

i understand what he is saying for the most part. i am at a slight disadvantage though because i am not too familiar with the stock induction on a 325i because this is my first BMW and it came with the ITB's and MAF/cone air filter set up. i have had to teach my self about that because most people don't have that on their cars.

i have been involved with tuning and high performance car in one way or another since high school.

i was taught about P & P'ing cyl. heads, manifolds, and induction by some of the best in the VW and other industries. i really miss sitting around and brainstorming, testing ideas, or just tossing around theories and R & D ideas with them. 2 are dead now, Gene Berg, and Dean Lowery. most i have lost contact with over the years. Daniel actually reminds me of Gene Berg a little.

i think what he is trying to do is get you to think about what will make your car handle or perform better, not just buy into what ever is being sold. he has seems to have a bunch of ideas and info to share, but not everything is a marketable product that money can be made from, which can be frustrating if you are trying to make money at it. sometimes you can make an excellent product, but the market just can't support it because of price

Yes r3v is full of bashing, but we are talking customers vs vender here. Different story I think. The thing about r3v is, as a whole, it knows when to be respectable and when not to be. People may be quick to jump the gun on things, but they also apologize when need be.

Very true.. I'd contact him directly, give him a call, or that sorta thing if you have specifics you want answered.. I can't speak for him exactly, but he'd porbably be more willing to talk to you that way. He is a nice guy, but i think alot of vendors have gotten burned by ripoffs before:(

i hate to point out the obvious but you fuckers are driving 20 year old single cam 6's. change your stock air filter once a year and call it a fucking day.

any gains from a super fancy intake/elbow are pretty much out the window because there is a friggin SQUARE DOOR in the middle of the intake tract.

I should run a line from my second MAP sensor to the airbox and compare pressures to see if the stock intake is really a significant bottleneck.

Compared to most this is pretty tame IMO

Ultimately though, i think he is worried about being ripped off. Its been mentioned in other threads as well as being a pattern in the e30 aftermarket community, which is why you don't see Mark D coming out with his new chip, or letting all his secrets known on a easily accessible website

Who he is in person, in front of his friends and wife is irrelevant.

To us, he is a vender on R3V. From what I've read so far on him, (I probably missed some points) he could very well be the most knowledgeable person here. Considering he is a vender on top of that, he needs to put his money where his mouth is and show us the data.

On a side note, how does your LCAB brace supposed to improve two of the strongest points on the E30 and more importantly, make a difference?

Why can't you show the full math behind all of your products? I know I couldn't interpret it, but there are a few on here that could. What is stoping you from proving yourself?

there is a pattern to it i think its either 1 he thinks were all knuckle heads or 2 he doesnt care or 3 all of the above or 3a tired of getting riped off
