Any car that is in a good state of tune and a properly controlled A/F ratio will run relatively clean. Most pollutatnts out there today come from diesels and old cars with blowby (burning oil). It's very arrogant of the "greenies" to believe that we humans are more than just a flea on a dog's ass to the Earth. The world was here long before we "got smart" and will be here long after we've forgotten what technology is.....Comment

Ha you guys make me laugh
I bet most of you have never been to the UK or the EU countries? I have been to most of the states in America and i can see the difference. (like driving down highway 1 in California approaching LA all that smog that just never moves)
The last comment made about the Diesel cars is just untrue; the UK gives tax brakes for diesel company cars which are alot kinder to the environment than petrol. I don’t have anything against big engines but i do believe that good power can be had from smaller forced induction principles. And no my E30 is not electric but a 1.8l that will easily out run on of your 325i :P
Whats this about CO2? Humans produce enough CO2 to damage the Ozone? ROMFL buddy what are you on? For your information the sea produces Oxygen by photo synthesis of micro algea.

Seeing as I just landed back in the states from my 8 days in Europe, I can see a HUGE difference. You guys use small engines in your cars and LOTS of diesel powered cars aswell. I can apprechate that.Originally posted by demlotcrewHa you guys make me laugh

Now, about Georges swap polluting the earth... think of it this way: we pulled a 230k+ mile engine out with leaking rings and a possible blown headgasket (sporratic coolant loss in exhaust). This engine polluted more than the 90k mile M30 we dropped into the car. The thing is, in the US we like big engines in our cars. Gas is 1/2 the cost as it is over there so the concern for mileage is not as great.'88 M3.2 S54 Lachssilber/Black

Sorry mate you have me wrong, i am not realy talking about Georges swap i think im referring to the general US attitude to life and not playing their part with the rest of the world. And from the comments made by some of the other members (not including you or George) have proved my point.Originally posted by M3 RyanSeeing as I just landed back in the states from my 8 days in Europe, I can see a HUGE difference. anyway lets just leave it at that, this is very pointless.

M30's are awesome engines. The one in my e28 533i was just a tank. After it was rebuild, it was undestroyable....1991 BMW ///M5 .:Black on Black:. - Modded

diesels are not that bad really, the technology is just not there yet, the black soot that shoots out is due to the injectors only pumping at like 15k psi, I read that in the future Gov't regulations the pressure will have to be closer to 30k psi to get the particles per billion particles down versus now they are commonly 1 per 100k, naugsty now, clean int the future.Comment
