Now that we have that out of the way, here is who I am: From 1986 to 1994 I worked for BMW-yeah in the heyday when there was a profit margin, ///M cars, and some of the great cars we drive and love today. Selling BMWs was actually not ever on my list of career objectives, but I did it out of necessity. The real estate market (which is where my background was) was not providing enough money to support my new born and newly aquired mortgage. I had always loved BMWs and had supported my local dealer both with referrals and, well my own checkbook. When the Real Estate market took an ugly turn, the Harloff's whom were friends of mine offered me a job at their dealership in San Diego. As a side note, I had owned several grey market BMWs prior to working there, most notably a Hartge H5S e28 and an e30 Baur Cabriolet.
Once I had finally left BMW in the 90s, I went back to my passion which was real estate, only this time in the financial end. I did this until Wall Street greed took over the market in 2007 and just ruined the entire business in one day!
During the good times of the mortgage business, I became very involved in one design saliboat racing and got married to my 2nd (and final) wife whom is the absolute perfect woman and loves BMWs too!
I had been spending way too much time away from her at sea and wanted to get back on land and spend more time with her, so after I purchased jewelry, a house, and put kids through college, I was able to bring her into my passion for restoring BMWs.
We started with a 1985 euro e28 M5 that was originally imported by 24 time PGA champ Johnny Miller. With the time and money we put into that car, we were thrust into the limelight both with media (Bimmer Magazine #56 and Roundel, October 2005?. We also won the "Holy Grail" at Oktoberfest 2004 with that car which was BMWNA's Concours de Elegance trophy. This trophy is the size of the Stanley Cup and is in the lobby of BMW's corporate hq in New Jersey. We worked very hard on the CCA's concours circuit for a couple of years with the car and she never let us down. She won 1st place at the Monterey Festorics, San Diego, and even Bimmerfest. It got to be such a noteable car that once we showed up at an event, other contestants would just get pissed at the sight of the car. So we sold her and started on quite a few other projects that have had the same success. We have never left Bimmerfest without a trophy and have always taken a different classic BMW to every event.
Fast forwar to the present....now that the mortgage market is in the tank, I have "morphed" my passion for restoring BMWs as a hobby to a full time job. I am constantly being commissioned by friends whom I have met along the way, to restore and sell, selected classic BMWs from their collection, which is what I am doing now.
If you want to see any of my work, I am pretty sure you can still request a copy of the June, 2008 copy of Bimmer Magazine (#75) from their website. On page 87 you will see an article on my e12 that was one of my prior collectables (now sold to a collector).
So now my days are filled searching for cars to restore, marketing collectable BMWs, and restoration.
Sorry for the long dissertation and thanks for the bandwith!

PS: here is a link to some pics of the car that started it all. These photos were taken at the Peterson Automotive Museum during Oktoberfest 2004.
