would this car be difficult to repair?

I was looking at this and I thnk it would be a good car just wondering how hard it would be to repari and what I am looking at cost wise?

I do not know if the b pillar is damaged, it it is I guess there is no fixing it, for me anyway.[/img]

you can buy that whole section of the rocker/b-pillar from BMW, but it's not worth it unless the car was free and you're capable of properly welding it together yourself.

With the damage to the rear quarter panel, I'd guess $4-6K in damages

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Where the hell do you guys take your cars? 4-6k????!!!! The shops down here in LA will do it for about 1-2k at most. I am not talking about some half ass job. The door has got to go, it is not worth fixing.

B pillar (must be cut out and welded in)
            Rocker panel (ditto)
            Both doors
Rear quarter panel (must be welded on/blended)
All the little inner workings of the doors and such that are destroyed

Assuming you replace all of the damaged panels and have them professionally painted, that's a conservative estimate.

I'd definitely have it on a frame machine, as well... that could equal another assload of damage.

In comparison, I have a friend who backed his car into a tree at about 15-20mph, hitting the towhook on the trunk of the tree. The only visible exterior damage is a small crumple in the passenger's side rear quarter panel and the bumper being knocked out of alignment. The frame is tweaked, and the quote from a reputable body shop in town was $1900, including time on the frame machine.

Damages add up in that area of the car REAL quick.

I am not gonna mess with damaged car. it looks nice inside and out other than the passenger side that is the only reason I even considered it.

For parts and paint maybe... but labor adds up quickly.
