I'm 6'4". And I'm 17. People think I'm wierd because I sit with the seat almost all the way foreward, autoX or otherwise ;). I have had no problems the the headrest; I tend to raise it up a bit and tilt it foreward so it sits just above the base of my skull, for what it is worth. My big feet are an issue, but I modded the mounting so it is okay now. The lever on the clutch has all of the paint worn off because my toes hit it whenever I shift.

Car is just for school and work. I am never too far from home and would not change a tire on a California freeway anyways. It goes back when I travel. And its fuh raze! my trunk only has the battery and some hardware to make a clutch stop that I never got to.

im only 5'9 tho. i like to be close to the wheel- easier to turn.
some of my friends that are shorter than me laugh at me cuz most of em like to sit back.

So, you put it in for long trips, but take it out for short ones. That seems like a lot of wasted effort.

I don't think people get that part of the reason the spare is in the location it is, is to absorb impact from a rear-end crash.

Basically, I take the E34 or my truck everywhere so the only time in 2 years I've had the E30 I only put the spare in once. The weight savings help cause a full tank of gas makes my tires rub on real fast corners.

That's ghetto fabulous man. Few minutes with a baseball bat & heat gun would solve that issue.

I know it sucks. I actually got my fenders rolled before. I did one side and my friend did the other, my side was pushed flat and he didn't go so far on his side so it rubs, battery side too. I jsut need to get some time to drive up to the shop and rent the roller again.

I'm 6'4", too, and have no issues with the headrests. I guess I don't understand the problem.
If you're not running a headrest and get rear ended hard enough, whiplash will be the least of your worries. Your spine could actually separate from the bottom of your skull if you get hit hard enough.
