Does anyone have any info on how much a karmann ghia goes for. Its a style 34 import from Germany. I was talking to a guy that just happens to have one, and wants to get one out of his backyard for cheap. When I say cheap im talking from the 400-600$ range.

Is it really worth it? I know nothing about vw's so this would be my first encounter with a potential car buy. From what the guy told me he said that his friend owed him some money and instead he was offered the car. It was garaged for 4 years and now sits outside under a tarp for the past 5 years. It has a rebuilt engine and tranny, but hasn't been started for over 9 years. It also has minor surface rust, and has no accident history. How much would I be able to grab for a car like this?

type 34 ghias are rare as fuck, and look AMAZING when painted with some satin finish sealer, and slammed to the ground.

at the very worst, you can flip the car for 5 times what you paid. thats assuming its in poor condition.
