    Stupid, stupid, stupid

Well, as most of you know I've had a bad vibration in my car recently. It turned out to be the brand new guibo that I got from BMA was broken. BMA agreed to replace the part for free, given that I send them back to the broken one. I couldn't go without my car so they were going to charge my account for the new guibo and refund it when I sent the broken one in. That was fine with me, but I had no money in my account so I gave them another credit card to use. I also needed exhaust gaskets.

Fast forward to today. I checked my online banking and I am overdrawn $60 with a pending $3 charge and another $17 fee. BMA charged my on-file card instead of using the credit card I gave them, thus overdrawing my account - twice. The guibo and gaskets went out in sepperate boxes so they were charged sepperately, and each time I made a charge after being overdrawn its another $17. I didn't know they used this card so when I used my card to buy a $3 thing at Home Depot this morning, bam, another overdraw, and thats another $20 gone. So now I am out $51 for fees for BMA overdrawing my account.

I just e-mailed them so I will update you guys on what they do about it.

Ouch... hopefully it's just a miscommunication issue and they'll clear it up for you.

Bank fees suck. I had to mail a check down to school. The person who opened the envelope read my note regarding the check being attached, and I think, threw away the envelope + check. Seeing as how I didn't want that check floating around, I had to put a stop payment on it. Thats a nice fee in and of itself.

that happened to me, except mine was with computer parts. i ordered a couple fans and they used my on file debit card instead of using my moms card so i wouldnt get overdrawn. so now i am out like $50 also. :(

              I got a $55 haircut a couple days ago.

$20 haircut and a $35 fee (I forgot my debit card at home, used the credit card and went over the limit :( )

                C'mon kids, save some cash.

It's not like you're an impoverished college student. There's no reason to be that close to the limit.

                    It's BS that this happened.

Funny thing that this was brought up...BMA did this to me, billing me a week before they shipped my stuff (had to come in from deutschland, they said they wouldn't ship until the following monday, i got paid the friday before) and caused the "Available balance" of my account (less than the ledger balance) to drop well, well below the limit. I called and said "No tracking #? Credit my card" and they did, before it ever was deducted from my account.

They should help you out, TJ.

Scary shit. I don't plan to build my own credit anytime soon, not officially anyways. The card that only I use has a limit of the cost of a E36 M3. Even if it has one of my parents' name is on it, I'm the only who uses it and pay it off. But I don't spend that much, definately not any longer now, as I don't want to go broke at the end of the cycle.

However, I might be tempted to get a BMWCCA CC if they allow me. And just buy small shit I am sure to pay off to build my personal credit.

TJ: Hopefully, BMA will make things right.

And Chris, what are you doing paying $20 for a haircut? It's $12 @ Great Clips.....half that if you take advantage every time they have a $6 haircut sale. ;)

And just learn to be careful and try to not let it happen again, hopefully. I've been taught to be very cautious of my balance in checking, and that jazz.

I was more pointing out why are you running it up to the limit?

True words. I've had my own credit for a year now, I had it up to the limit once (impulse bought BBS RX's...doh) and I'll never do it again. I never went over, but just the feeling of being trapped like that sucked ass.

We're all young here (except the old drunk bastids), be careful guys.
