How do most of you know? I know there is probably only one or two members old enough to have bought their car new and most don't have service records either. How do you know it wasn't changed 10 times before you got the car??

I know because I have every record of my car since purchase, including original receipt. EVERYTHING including oil changes was done at the same dealer for 15 years.

Then you don't fit into the group I was talking about

I also have service records, going back to the warranty period. I'm the 3rd owner of my car, 158k and no problems with the starter yet.

It's good news that they seem to last. My Buddies went out last week on his '86 and looking at changing that didn't get me excited about ever doing mine.

179k miles, original. And I know since I have every service receipt since the car was new (they amount to like $20k too).
