Yeah, I totally agree with the driving style comment and said something similar in my first post. There are certain times when you can't take up a whole entry way trying to go as sideways as possible(like if a car is in the way, or you're on a major road trying to turn in, but can't turn in at 3mph without running the risk of being rear ended), so I was just offering additional advice.

Good luck with whatever you do.

You either can't be wrong, or have to have the last word, I can't tell which it is though...

        Brandodandododadandon1 is irritating.

        Zip-ties look like shit.

I am taking the lip off of my car tonight (and every night from now on) and placing it under my mattress so nobody steals it. Fuck the Recaros inside the glass, they'll be safe because of the sketchy zentralverriegelung elektrisch.

+1 on removing the lip. I'm going to do the same thing: put my car up on the lift and undo the eight bolts, ten clips and four zip ties holding my lip/splitter in place. I'll put it under my pillow next to my gun...

Bavauto sells them for an alright price though.

When you hit something though, the hard plastic clips will be the first thing to yield allowing the lip to be shed safely. You will run over it but that mainly will just fuck up the paint and if you've painted it yourself, will not be too much of an issue. Installing a splitter will stiffen the lip some, and if you're REALLY OBSERVANT can be an early warning to when you're about to scrape, but for this to work you have to be traveling very slowly. I only started breaking IS lips when I had splitters attached to them.

As for paint, a little bird (who may or may not own this forum) told me that Krylon Gloss black is a damn good match for Schwarz. If you're careful, this will be affordable and look decent while being easy to repair if you get a booboo.

Mount it properly, buy extra clips and slow the fuck down, you'll be ok!

And I'm proud of you!

From when ive used it, its a little lighter and more "brown" than schwarz. but the difference is only seen in really direct & hash sunlight... so it should be fine.

Also, duplicolor trim paint is a nice satin finish...

Mr. Anderson had a good thread about getting a mirror, Schwarz-matching finish out of Krylon somewhere but satin could also look great too.

Yeah it probably be real close, and being as the lip isnt usually directly lit...

But i'd think the satin would look good. I actually like satin a bit more for lips than gloss... to much gloss on the front end for me

Of course i did satin for my bumpers when i did my plastic swap

I picked up a can of duplicolor trim paint since my car is D.schwarz not schwarz anyway. It'll do until I get some more of my car painted.

Oh, my rear valence was all smashed in by the PO, anyway I can fix this myself?
