Kind of complicated and definitely not cheap.

Wider sump...baffles... the pump would need modification as well..

Could be fabed from a stock pan core...

    Hmmm...

Edit: Might as well dry sump the engine though.

I want to go lower and keep the pan intact. Although with 215/40/17s tread is already almost meeting fender when the wheels are turned and I'm going 235/40 in a few months.

Need more room in the fenders.

Are you suggesting flares? Or higher arch front fenders.

What kind of data would back that up for you?

Well I don't have one. It's just not a big enough deal for me to shoot something like that.

Tell you how it was done?

        Like anyone would fucking listen....

This is what I do professionally... Not just one or 2 cars since I learned to drive (my bet on 90% of this forums demographic) but hundreds of BMW chassis over the past 25 some odd years...

Again... No simple safe way to do it... A drag I know but...
Haha. Professional. You and that word don't belong in the same sentence.

But I will think on it...

The correct placement for an oil temperature sensor really is right in the oil pan, at the cooler/filter block you will get falsely elevated and intermittant lower oil temp readings.
I dont see how it would be difficult to fabricate a hollow bot. I understand your point about the oil temperature sensor location, but my solution was more geared towards the oil pressure sensor. I honestly think that there would be a market for a relatively low cost (when compared to the oem m3 unit) direct bolt in solution for an oil psi unit for m20 powered e30s.

How about a manifold to adapt for oil pressure at the stock location in the main gallery?

The pressure and temp at the filter/cooler block would be erratic and variable.

I saw, if I get the chance to look at the two assys. side by side I will.

But it's never simple or cheap to fabricate and machine suspension parts.

i would definitely be interested in some way to hook up pressure and temp senders to the M42, although I havn't done much research and a product may alredy be availiable.

VDO makes a nice outlet manifold for pressure and it's fairly simple to install a bung in the m42 oil pan or use the VDO drain plug sender.

We could make a kit to raise the engine on the mounts like we did in the Group 4 cars... Not really great for the roll center but you can certainly get them closer to the ground making up for that.

That shouldn't be too big of a surprize if you take into consideration this being one of the largest BMW stores in Southern California and that there are 4 or 5 people working here that drive e30s, you Tool!

jesus christ guys can you not just appreciate someone who spends tons of time and money to make new things for our old pieces of shit? would you rather everyone just stop making aftermarket parts for us so we end up looking and handling the exact same way? i completely understand that you guys want numbers, but if none are given, shut the fuck up and dont buy anything. i have brought up similar situations with Massive Lee and he doesnt have any "data" either but everyone seems to worship whatever he comes up with. i can't believe daniel has put up with all you assholes but i for one am glad he continues with his work
