well, thats the reason for saying id like to see him win. he has had good showings, almost won for Ferrari until a mechanical failure a number of years ago. Its not that he is a bad driver [wouldnt of had a ride for 15 years if he were] as much as he has had horrid luck in front of his countrymen.Leave a comment:

You'd be surprised. Rubens is much of a joke in Brazil.
The same way you say someone can give a "mickey mouse excuse" or a "mickey mouse product", we use his name on the same way. He's always in the media with some random excuse as to why he lost. The man is fully incapable of just saying "I didn't run a good race today"
I mean, the man has been in a Formula 1 for more than 15 years! If you analyze that in regular human time, the man precedes the invention of the wheel. And how many career victories does he have?
I guess it would be nice to see a Brazilian take the Brazil GP, and I'm not going to say Rubens hasn't tried. However, don't think for a second Brazilians wouldn't prefer to see Massa or even Piquet Jr. (if he was still around) up on the podium before Rubens.
My 2 cents

Sauber-Qadbak has the "14th" slot on the grid. For now, they are first reserve if any other team drops out. Though there are efforts to add a 14th team. The whole Sauber 2010 situ is still murky, I'm not sure if the Sauber outfit will remain under a different name or if them and BMW are both leaving at the end of the season. If some for of Sauber stays, I'd be surprised to see Nick not stay with them (after all, he has been with Williams-BMW/BMW-Sauber for five seasons now.)
If Nick can get a sure thing ride with an established team (not USF1, Manor, Campos, etc.) then I think he'd jump on it, unless Sauber is confirmed to be racing.Leave a comment:

Once again I would argue that Vettel is the best driver in poor conditions. One needs only look at Brazil last year where he passed Lewis' McLaren in a Toro Rosso and almost gave Massa the championship. Also you have Japan in his first year as well as China, and his win at Monza last year in a Toro Rosso in the wet. The kid ist Der Regenmeister. But yes, Lewis is ONE of the best in wet conditions. I don't know if it is his strategy or what but Heidfeld always seems to benefit from rain as well.
I wonder how bad off Brawn will be next year though, I mean they won't have the defuser advantage to help them like they did at the beginning of this year when they were dominant. It also seems they haven't been able to keep up with development as well as the other teams so I would say most of their strength this year comes from the fact that they wrote off last year and worked so much longer on this year's car than the other teams. Next year they will not have the same advantage and I wouldn't be surprised to see them around where Toyota is this year come next season.Leave a comment:

I really dislike the cheeky Looo-ese Hameeeeelton, but the guy is a fantastic driver. And arguably the best when the conditions go south.Leave a comment:

True about Buemi, he shows the most promise out of that group.
Are you suggesting that Nick and Kubi both go to Renault, I think that would be pretty cool actually. Nick probably isn't on top of everyone's shopping list though (as much of a fan of his as I am) but he is very consistent and that might help him go to another team as something other than a test driver.

Dont discount Buemi. I think he has promise.
And as far as a pairing for Kubica, why not Nick????? They seem to play well together.Leave a comment:

^ No question about it. It's odd how these teenage phenoms (Alguersuari, Grosjean, Buemi) all seem to be shit drivers at the moment. It really makes one respect drivers like Vettel (hell, even LH to some extent, as much as some may dislike him.)Leave a comment:

Fernando to SF, and Kubi to Renault; maybe a slightly better car will cease Kubi's bitching.

I imagine Heidfeld will probably serve as someone's test driver next season, oh well.Leave a comment:

Same here, also I don't understand how they can give him a drive through penalty for it unless it was a big gain in time(which I doubt it was) I thought common practice was for fines to be handed out for speeding in the pits. I mean Rosberg apparently was speeding in the pits at Japan but nothing was dolled out for him. I understand each case is different but these rulings are just all over the place.Leave a comment:

Vettel would seriously be in the hunt if he hadn't been fucked in Singapore. What a bullshit way to do the pit speed limit.
I'm a huge RBR fan. I've always liked Webber, and been a big fan of Vettel since he came into the sport.Leave a comment:
