Kimi now supposedly sitting out 2010.

This seems to shore up the Button to McLaren story.

Sounds like Quick Nick in a Silver Arrow car for sure.

Indeed, I mean this last year driver wise there was very little change in drivers(at the start of the season at least). So many new drivers and teams to learn and become fans of/talk crap about, its like a whole new sport! I feel that the only name that will matter next year however will be FERRARI! The return of the Rosso Corsa to prominance, and hopefully Red Bull performs as well as this last year. Without bringing any of the new teams into this I stay committed to Ferrari and Red Bull(really just Seb Vettel).

I wouldn't be surprised with that outcome of Jenson at Mclaren. Kimi at Red Bull hopefully in 2011! I thought F1blog had a funny story that a new team should hire Kimi for Spa and Spa only(if it is on the calender). I mean the guy is in esteemed company when it comes to number of Spa wins, and has shown he can win it in even the shittiest of cars(this year's ferrari).

The more I read, the more backpedaling I see. Maybe its just Jenson's people negotiating in the press??

I wasn't doubting it--just looking for a press release. I'll continue to wait, I guess.

True. Planet F1 - headline makes it sound like a done deal, but in the story they solely rely on Guardian. Other sources say deal is "close to being done".

So maybe its not 100% official, but sounds like its happening. Even if MercGP was offering him the 8m he wants, its only for one year, and after next year then what are his options? He may be better off with a lower pay rate but three years guaranteed. 6m is decent - Kubica only got 3.5.

And with Glock to Manor, you definitely gotta figure Heidfeld goes to Mercedes. Heidfeld was the favorite anyway.

Montagny is the favorite for the #2 Renault seat.

Looks like there may be no Finns in 2010 unless Kovi takes a seat at Force India or one of the new teams.
I wonder how Lord Anthony is going to handle Button being in the paddock with his prized son.

I like how Brawn was basically saying the Mercedes buyout wasn't going to happen literally up until the day of. So it seems there will be 4 silver cars on the grid next year. I wonder if Red Bull can have Mercedes power now since the only thing holding them back before was a McLaren veto vote, and McLaren is no longer at the top of Mercedes long term plans so....Red Bull-Mercedes 2010!
