No doubt, getting to travel with the team to every single venue, getting into areas where even VIP's can't get into. The dream job if you ask me, I wonder what positions BMW needs filled.
Do you ever listen the driver interviews? Even they talk about going back to these fabulous places after the season so they can actually see them because they don't get to during a race weekend. The crew, up until 4-5am putting the spare together because the driver put it in the wall in practice or qualifying. Then back up at 7-8am to get the car ready.
Did you notice how late they were there putting the car together, well past dark. I bet those guys work an unfuckingly believeable amount of hours and are basically going non-stop until the season is over.
Who cares if you're in Monte Carlo, Singapore, etc, if all you are doing is sleeping in the truck/hotel and working 18-20 hours a day.
I have a feeling its MUCH less glamourous than it is in your head.

I understand that they aren't doing a full fucking tour of the entire area, they are a race team and they're there for a reason. But being able to travel all over the world and work on a Formula One car seems like a pretty neat gig to me.
I'm sure the advantages highly outweigh the disadvantages, but I guess a cubicle job is also just as thrilling.

Not saying its anywhere near close, way to go completely off fucking base.
I'm just saying it's just like the older generation lookng back and thinking "Oh, such and such decade was so great." Because they have long forgotten or ignore the bad shit.
Same thing here.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome, I'm just saying it's nowhere near as glamorous as people think it is from the outside.

Damn, what a shame. Through the good times, the bad times, the controversial team bs, that guy always seemed like one of the more classy people in Formula One.

It seems there was confusion with the FIA saying that "only eight engines could be used in one race season" and that "each engine must last three races," so the FIA dropped the latter. For the 2009 season, only eight engines can be used and no penalties will be handed out if a motor fails to last three races.

I worry that this season will be very boring. With a ban on inseason testing there is very little a team can do to evolve thier cars. So if you get it wrong, its game over.

Something tells me this is the catalyst for more outlandish and ridiculous regulatory bs for the 2009 season.
if what the German mag said, and if FIA comes out and says Ferrari is running illegal bodywork, what does that say for and about Ferrari? Did they really think no one would notice? Im sure they are not stupid and have people working for them who specialize in just that, knowing all the rules and such. or did they go around the rules (gray area) cant wait to see what happens next.
