What an interesting q. section! Both BMW cars out, within minutes of each other and both with what might be engine problems? Sutil in 2nd is a big surprise! Wow.
I was watching BBC Sport feed, and they only interviewed Sutil and Lewis. Did Kimi say anything in the interview or did BBC Sport not show it? Anyone?Leave a comment:

If a Brawn has to win the Championship, I want it to be Rubens.
And bets on how quick Kimi hits Adrian? I am thinking the first chicane.Leave a comment:

Not surprised by Lewis' light weight. He was .195 faster than Sutil so my immediate thought was he was running low fuel. As the commentators noted the McLaren is looking quite stable and planted in the corners given the low downforce of Monza....I think we can expect them to stay in the mix up front (barring any Spa-like disasters). Interesting that the Brawns and Redbulls are equal in weight. I agree in favoring Rubens simply because I think he's showing better form & pace than Jenson. A WC for Rubens would be more than well-deserved after all these years.
Any word on what caused the BMWs to fail? I think its more than mere coincidence that both cars have engine failures within 2 laps of each other.

weights are up. redbull is no heavier than the brawns... and hamilton is lightest of the top 10.
im putting myself behind rubins, he deserves a WCLeave a comment:

I am not looking forward to a race in the dry tomorrow for Red Bull so I am hoping against hope that they are heavy and get lucky or that it rains and Vettel can work his magic. Should be interesting though to see how quick Kimi takes out Sutil.Leave a comment:

Yep, good read and very interesting look at data. Makes it clear how easy it is for them to figure out when rear wheels were not spinning at the same right as front.
Good read!
Now watching FP1 and 2.Leave a comment:

That was a good read....quite insightful (much of which I was unaware of). This healthy dose of drama just adds to the already active silly season in F1. I will not be surprised if Renault gets handed a heavy penalty for this.....on par with McLaren? Maybe. We'll have to wait and see.I've been busy the last few weeks, so I haven't closely followed the internet speculation regarding the Piquetgate situation. Below is a good review of the entire situation if you've got 20-25 minutes to spare.

While I said when it happened that I thought it was sketchy, really who gives a crap at this point. In 20 years I wouldn't mind reading about it in a book, but not now when there is so much more to worry about.Leave a comment:

I would like to see Fisi win, just because he deserves more success than what he's received in F1 (and he's a pretty nice guy--emphasis on the nice, not the pretty). I doubt that he'll do much of anything in a new car on a track like that. Unfortunately, I won't be able to catch much of the action since I'll be at the Watkins Glen vintage event all weekend.
So who here thinks that the FIA is stupid enough to disqualify Renault from the Singapore results last year, bumping everyone under Alonso up one position? Who here thinks the FIA is stupid enough to analyze the running order pre-Piquet shunt and call the race with that classification? I have no idea what the running order was at that moment, but it seems like something they would do. Does anyone think Renault (if found guilty) will be banned from F1 in the future? Would this include engine supply deals too? (Sir Frank may be a bit upset about that)Leave a comment:

My first guess would be Rubens.....unless he out-performs Jenson and takes the championship. He can't have more than a season or two left in F1 (tops) seeing he's 37 now. It will be interesting to see how that unfolds, especially if Jenson doesn't get his stride back. JB might be the one looking for a drive for 2010.
