i wanted to see Hamilton pass Button at the end. Great race for Force India... would of liked to of seen Tonio finish in the points. I expect Force India to be at the back of the pack the last 4 races -
Just watched the braking video, amazing braking but also great to see/hear how quick and violent the down shifts are. Those tranny's are stout.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I am a Vettel fan, but he has a long career ahead of him while Rubens doesn't so if Vettel can't win I would like Rubens to, he has been number 2 for too long.Oh yeah - you're right. I had forgotten about Valencia. And Rubens' number of podiums definately outweighs Jensons'. Whoever from Brawn wins the Drivers' Title, you can't deny 2009 will go down as an epic season for this new team. They've pretty much got the Constructors' title in their pocket already.

Good race, hectic first lap, all the cars were so skitish around the track with no downforce and cold tires. Vettel could have def been investigated for blocking I thought. It would be a shame if Monza was done away with for a Rome street circut. Although Hamilton did not win the race he showed why he is a former champion and prob will be again someday,,,, pushing hard at the limit until the end, and not afraid to go over the limit. Many drivers would have just accepted 3rd, he is fearless and never backs down. Let it be known that I am NOT a Hamilton fan but I admire his tenacity.
The Brawn team could have some very interesting decisions to make in the next few races if RB continues to drive the way he is. They pulled away from Redbull in this race so I guess they can let them race.Leave a comment:

Actually if Jenson gets three 3rds and a 2nd place he will lose to Rubens as Rubens would have 6 wins(he has 2 now, plus 4 more) as well and way more 2nd places. For Barrichello to win the title, he has to win the last 4 races while Jenson fairing no better than 3rd everytime. This would put Rubens at 106 points while Jenson would have 104. If Jenson got three 3rd place finishes and one 2nd, he would have 106 points just like Rubens but the title would go to Jensen because he has more wins.
Based on this, Jenson isn't quite a lock for the WD title but todays' result at Monza has definately improved his odds.

I was basing my "probabilities" of drivers' championship simply by the numbers. Right now with 4 races remaining, there is a maximum of 40 points up for grabs. The drivers' still in the running (mathematically speaking) are:
Button - 80 points
Barrichello - 66 points
Vettel - 54 points
Webber - 51.5 points
In order for Webber to take the title, Jenson and Rubens need to finish out of the points while while Webber wins the last 4 races. Odds of this realistically happening? Very very very unlikely....but it is still possible statistically speaking.
In order for Vettel to win the title, he needs to rack up 2 wins and two in 2nd place -or- 2 wins, a 2nd and a 3rd while Jenson scores nothing. Barrichello could finish in the points so long as they are very few points to ensure a Vettel victory. Odds of this realistically happening? Slightly better than Webber, but it would still take a miracle. Again, by the numbers it is possible although I wouldn't hold your breath.

Very good race! Brawn had a great weekend! Good job Force India as well, very good pace!
I am not kidding when I say this, as I just finished watching the race and Lewis was in 3rd with 3 laps to go followed by Kimi and Sutil... I just had a crazy thought thinking "what if Lewis will crash in the next lap". I guess he is still capable of doing just that ...
LOL
P.S. did you guys catch the funny moment with Sutil and some random girl/model during his interview with BBC crew?
"do you know her?"

By what the German commentators I was listening to were saying, both Vettel's chances took a catastrophic hit today and Webber was out of the race for the championship. But I will say this: Rosberg & Kimi are no longer mathematically in the run for the championship. Its down to Webber, Vettel, Barrichello & Button.
Todays' race concludes the European swing of the season. Last 4 races (in order) are: Singapore, Suzuka, Brazil & Abu Dabi.

Both Barrichello and Button (more Rubens than Jason) have been running very consistently and are seemingly becoming the stronger team overall. Even though Hamilton was running very strong throughout the race, he pushed a little to strong and wound up crashing.
I will say it's getting pretty interesting if Barrichello poses a challenge to Button's run.Leave a comment:

Great race today.....I won't go into a lot of detail now since others have yet to watch it. But I will say this: Rosberg & Kimi are no longer mathematically in the run for the championship. Its down to Webber, Vettel, Barrichello & Button.

Latest from Monza (F1):
#1: Barrichello(Brawn), #2: Button(Brawn), #3: Raikonnen(Ferrari).
Hamilton had 3rd place on lock but was pushing hard on the 2nd to final lap trying to get to Button and crashed, ended 12th. Fisicella came in 9th with ferrari while his former teamate Sutil finished 4th. Kubica crashed with Webber at the begining and later retired and Heidfeld finished 7th.Leave a comment:

that video was amazing.
I personally hope button can take the championship. He may be having trouble now but he did dominate 50% of the season so far. I think he more then deserves it.
I would like to see Webber take it before Rubins but that is just personal favoritism. I respect Rubins very much.Leave a comment:

Not really on topic to tomorrow's race, but here's a video clip of Kubica in the BMW (2006 season) braking hard into turn one at Monza. Gives you a much better perspective of the stopping power of an F1 car. Sorry if its a repost.
