    So, in a nutshell:

-Renault is on probation until 2011

    -Flavio is banned for life

-Symonds is banned for 5 years

    -PK2 & Alonso are free

This'll give Flav more time to work with the students of his School of Language.

"Uhh- hey what is do a we wrong uhh- why about are a we uhh- ohhh, okay uhh- we see come you later. Uhh good ciao."

On a serious note and getting back to the issue at hand, does this not seem completely inconsistent with the WMSC's ruling of the McMerc espionage scandal, requiring them to pay $100M???

No Mclaren LIED and continued to lie to the FIA during the investigation. Renault came clean, and offered to the FIA the firing of the two key players in the scandal. It seems as if Renault F1 was unaware of the commands, and that only the 3 persons named knew of the plot. To fine Renault would be blaming the wrong party.

I am guessing Mark Webber will have to get a new manager since the FIA won't grant licenses to anyone associated with Flavio. One of the many side effects to this situation.

I hope BMW goes out strong in these next few races with their new aero package, not likely though as they are on their 8th engine with 4 races to go

Alonso was at the FIA hearing this morning (per the FIAs request) and his testimony (along with the evidence provided by Renault's internal investigation) satisfied the hearing panel to deem him clear of any knowledge or wrong-doing in this event. Whether he actually did or did not have any involvement is something that is likely to be taken to the grave....but as far as the official word from the FIA goes, Alonso is innocent. Very fortunate for him.

I deeply miss Eddie Jordan's presence in the paddock. USGP was never the same without the possibility of meeting the Jordan girls.

Tell me how David Coulthard can be funnier than David Hobbs :p

                          Best Hobbs-ism:

"now that pass took some serious attachments"

Or Bob Varsha's quip at Hobbs during a broadcast:

"The race, much like David Hobbs on a Saturday night, is subject to blackout"

                            Hobbs is great.

Good article in the wal street journal about the weak ass Renault penalty, front page of the marketplace section. ING is departing from F1 at the end of this year and Renault is still looking for a sponsor.

I don't see Renault coming back in 2012, just my own personal opinion.

So, pardon the seemingly obvious question, is Renault allowed to run the rest of this season, or are they out completely until 2012?

and to add to this question, they are 100% out for 2010 & 2011 ???

no appeals or anything right? can they somehow appeal the ruling? like wise about Flavio
