Nice result for Toyota in todays' quali, but in doing some reading on the interwebz, analysts are saying both Trulli and Glock are running light fuel loads....several laps worth of fuel in fact. I'm still waiting for the official car/driver weights to be posted by the FIA, but many are predicting that third place Vettel has at least 4 or 5 laps more fuel on board compared to the Toyotas. If this is true, all he has to do is run in their draft and fend off Jenson & Rubens (in 4th and 5th respectively) until they need to pit for fuel and then start opening a gap.

McLaren (at least in Lewis' case) and Ferrari are showing some improvements so perhaps we will see them in the mix of things throughout the race. The biggest concern for all is the wind tomorrow.....the forecast is calling for 12/13 mph wind which is enough to not only have an effect on the cars' aero, but get sand & dust into the air and onto the track surface. Should be a good one.

    Jon

Edit: Lewis is in 5th, not Rubens.....he's in 6th.

Thanks for the lbs conversions, hoping for another good result for Vettel, I really hope he make history this year by being the youngest drivers champ, or at least be top 3.
Also I think the whole McMerc thing is BS and just trying to make the FIA take it easy on them, but they really don't deserve a heavy sentence anyway.

Great scrap early on in the back of the pack.

Once again, Massa out of the points. At least he finished, but the damaged wing early on didnt help.

Button took control, the Brawns are fast. Vettel made up good time. Glock must have been struggling with the tires pretty bad to dop that far back.

You gotta figure, those supersofts are good for about 10-12 laps, they asked him to run what, 20-21 laps on them?

I think it was the hard compound that Glock had the problem with, several people ran in the 20's lap wise with the softs including Vettel.

That may have been the single most lackluster, uneventful Formula One race ever televised.

Another solid side-by-side performance for my BMW boys, keep up the stellar work, chaps.

I know it doesn't really make it better but there were worse races last year. So much for more passing. Almost all the passing up front once again took place due to pit strategy.

Yeah, I mean I'm not wanting NASCAR-esque slidin' and bumpin', just something different than the clusterfuck that I've been seeing for the entirety of this season. It's also salt in the wound to see BMW do so poor, but Theissen seems to believe these magical aero updates will do wonders once the guys get back to Europe. Oh well, hate to see Vettel not win the race, he does much more for me than Boy Luck/Button.

Not all races are knock down drag out battles. Frankly, i like seeing these from time to time.

Button did not luck into this win, by any means. He pushed and pushed and pushed. It helps to have a laptop with live timing near by while watching. Button was very consistent and pushed hard while other guys were pitting.
