If you want to win, toss KERS in the bin.

Pretty decent race. I really figured Brawn GP wasn't going to run away with it like they did. I was seriously impressed with Webber though, he's still a hell of a driver with many competitive years left. Vettel did the best he could today as well, same for Massa, though it would have been nice if Ferrari wouldn't have screwed up his fuel load and given him the correct amount. I was really surprised with how poorly the Toyotas did today (primarily Glock for obvious reasons,) but was pleased with BMW's improving pace. Until they get their shit together, I want to see RBR start getting some wins.

The Alonso/Webber passing situ after the safety car period was amazing, I'm surprised Alonso didn't get a stop-go for clearly going over the pit-out lane; but I'm glad he didn't, it was an honest and well-executed pass by both skilled drivers.

Right, but had there been a car exiting the pits when they were going by, that could have been nasty.

Either way, it was a well-planned and well-executed maneuver by both drivers.

A good race - some of what I mentioned in my pre-race post yesterday rang true today. Red Bull is the team Brawn needs to be concerned with. They are maintaining greater consistancy than Toyota and are way ahead of everyone else on the grid....its going to be the 2009 version of Ferrari vs. McLaren between these two.

Massa did manage to get a great start considering he had KERS and a lot of fuel on board. Its a damn shame his fuel strategy got botched, he was showing good pace for quite some time. I have a feeling the person who miscalculated his fuel load from the last stop will awake tomorrow morning next to a horses head. The new car Kimi had clearly wasn't debugged enough but with testing gone there was no other way they could find this out. Did anyone hear what happened with Heikki's car? He just fizzled to a stop like Kimi did.

BMW seems to be gaining a little bit of ground with their revised aero bits. They've ditched KERS for the time being and are focusing on other things. That means Ferrari is the only team with KERS still on board, right? I might be wrong.....but I do know other teams are leaving it out since it was creating more issues than desired results.

Monaco in two weeks! Every team needs to bring extra nose sections for that one.

^ McMerc and Ferrari both rocked KERS this weekend, not sure who will be using it in Monaco (where the number of passing areas is tiny.)

im begining to wonder if the Ferrari is heavy. With kimi getting a new lighter chassis, and Massa having to pit at the same time as a much lighter Vettel, it appears to me that they are suffing from a heavy car due to the KERS system.

Good race, just finished watching it. Alonso vs Webber at the start of the race was amazing. Too bad for Massa and Kimi once again.

Probably BS, is it on any other F1 sites?

I forgot to mention how Lewis's interview with BBC was f-ing hilarious.... "I just had no grip", "I don't know why they just won't give me a faster car" blah blah blah... clown.

Now Rubens got ahead of Jensen at the start of the race, but if you go back to an earlier post I made, you'll see that he was slightly heavier than Jensen when they set off. I checked their respective bios on their websites and ironically they both tip the scales at ~155 lbs. And since neither Brawn car is running KERS, this car/driver weight difference has to come down to fuel load.

So (supposedly) Rubens has more fuel at the start and both cars were running the softer compounds.....then why was he brought in 3 times versus Jensen's 2? With Brawn calling the shots, you can't help but speculate if team orders were being used. If this is true, then I feel bad for Rubens.....he's always been saddled with the role as "wingman" for a team. He's done his job well for many years but I'm sure he would want to be 1st at the checkers when he knows he's the quicker of the two.
