I searched and didnt see a topic about this. During House I saw a commercial for the 335d and the X5 diesel. It's about fucking time.

I just saw that commercial during 24 about an hour ago! I was excited about it. I'd love to own one. They were bragging about its "carbon footprint" which I could care less about.

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

Fuck the carbon footprint, that fucker gets some mean mileage. Not too bad power-wise either, BMW claims 256hp at 4200rpm and 425 ft/lb between 1750-2250 on the 335d.

Wake me up when they build a 135d 5-door hatchback and bring it here.

Wake me up when it fails smog/breaks down/depreciates to oblivion/flops.

With $34/bbl oil and massive recession, diesel is dead.

and why would it fail any easier than any gasoline motor, and as far as breaking down, you are dumb!

but,... you guys are really lost in the "newer generation" of BMW motors.-- the gasoline motors with the direct injection are getting the same fuel economy as the diesels are. the N47/N57 motors are great, but the N52 and others are incredible.

                            Ding ding ding.

50k car that gets marginally better fuel economy than the base model 328i, which asks for fuel that costs $1/gallon more.

                            Gonna be a tough sell.
