    what cuz I defended the new guy???

    Look man not every one who knows about odd ball shit hangs out in the swap thread (like me) he obviously been there and been through it and though this might grab some attention to point him in the right direction. I dont have time right now to go find all the other links to this info right now. But I will get to tomorrow or the the next day. I just gave him the easy link on here for the time being. Christ man take it easy.

                The big fucking thread is almost useless. I swapped an M50 into my e and the information I got came about 90% from not in that thread. You can't find anything in there.

                To the OP, if you find out how to get this done, it'd be great if you could make a writeup on it. I've kinda been daydreaming about getting ix drivetrain even though it's not really feasible or necessary for me.

                If as Mr. Sleeve says, the oil pan is the big issue, then almost all the info can be obtained in the 24v swap subforum not even in the big fucking thread. That oil pan sounds like an interesting obstacle.

                          Talk to Paul at Moonlite motorwerks 484-390-0880. He has an ix with a S50 in it. He made a custom oil pan for it.

                            To the OP-- Moon Lite Motorwerks-- (moonlitemotorwerks.com) is located in Pennsylvania. A few days ago we had a post like your here and the OP of that thread said that he was using them as a resource because they have an S50 iX. They can fab up your oil pan, or point you in the right direction. Give them a call.

                            But really, if you want good power for your iX, just stick with the idea you had for turboing the M20. It'll give you tons more power than the M50, and even more than an S50/52. Not to mention you wont have to deal with the potential expensive headache that swapping an M50 into an iX could become.

                            Edit to add-- S52E30M3-- you are good..

                              IIRC, you can't use the e34 525ix pan because you'd need to use the e34 front diff, which is a different ratio then the rear diff... not to mention the front diff doesn't even really fit, and you'd need to do custom axles, etc..

                              So, you need to weld the rear of an e34 M50 pan to the front of an m20 325ix pan.










                              You'll have to modify the oil pickup as well.









                              To avoid all that, you can make an adapter to use an m20 ix oil pan on the m50 block...
