I was not meaning the looks on the scoobie at all, however, in person it looks great (to me)! I love the fact that the STI is now in a hatch version (finally), since I am a hatch fan. But anyway, the shit is basically fast. Stock for stock, the new STI will beat my friend's Brand new 335i bmw. Thats impressive, for a hatch (no matter how ugly).

They are really not that fast. On launch yeah they are fast but other then that they really dont have that wow factor.

A couple of months ago there was a new Subaru WRX hatch at the local auto show and I took the opportunity to check it out up close. As far as the looks go, the verdict is still out in my opinion.....some of it I like, some of it I don't. I got inside and adjusted the seat and mirrors and I found it to have good visibility - even the C pillar in back wasn't too obstructive. I then tried some mock heel-toe moves and I really liked the pedal placement and spacing. I was wearing my crosstrainer sneakers which aren't too clunky nor slender like proper driving shoes. Gearshift placement was good too. I would definately like to test drive one someday after these initial impressions.

if the ride is anything like the Sti I rode in a few days ago, they can keep it. makes my coilover'd E30 feel like a caddilac..

I drove the new sti and evo back to back and they just don't do it for me. The way those turbo motors make power and their loss through drivetrain bore me. This was proven even more so when I test drove the 370z, which screamed at the higher RPMs and weighed relatively light compared to the others.
