Only for those that don't pay attention, or fail to react fast enough.

This is the reason why I'd hate lowering my car, so I dont have to drive like a fucking grandmother on roads in fear of bumps.

Ill be going up to the stealer and ordering the skidplate and seeing if it clears the oilpan.

Havent done it yet and dont plan on it. If i did I would destroy a $1000 airdam first.
            Im now E30less.

I tore the entire catch basin off my pan, it was the cleanest rip ive seen ever, the only thing holding the peice onto the car was the sensor.

I think I'm in the club............maybe..........theres a slow leak, wait, I take that back.

there was a slow DRAINING of the oil in my car.........I'm sitting at school and the car is in the garage at home wth absolutely no oil left in the engine.

I think I may have cracked the oil pan somewhere

It's not? Thanks for telling me.

                  I just measured my 318i (m10)... a whopping 7.5" :P Alot more than my 325i.

I haven't broken an oilpan yet, before I lowered my car I was scared I was going to, but it's not that bad, just watch out for rocks.

It's baffling to see how many have cracked or shattered pans.

dude, you're not euro unless you've shattered 1 pan at least.
                            duh.

Original owner hit something in 4x4 mode don't know how he had the pan welded and then jb over that just to make sure. then i lowered it about 2 inches and havent had any troubles the roads around here are shit and this is my first lowered car just gotta look way ahead and pay attention driving like this for a year and a half winters and all and have yet to hit anything.
You guys must not be able to drive...... i have duals alll the way back with single tips on either side and a dynomax square truck muffler which hangs about an inch lower than the pan and i havent hit that yet either....

                              kids these days

Ask James or Luke if I drove like a grandmother on what were by far the bumpiest/shitty roads i've ever driven on.

The lip was bottoming out on bumps/heaves on some parts of the road. If the lip is bottoming out that means the oil pan is roughly 1/2inch off the ground.

James through up lots of sparks off his exhuast piping, as did I off my cat. Oil pan is still pristine.
