How loud is your exhaust?

I don't have radio, but I can hear my CD's just fine over anything my car throws at it. I can BARELY hear my phone, even with a in ear headset on the highway @ 75mph in 5th.

I got a speeding ticket once, the cop said he heard me "pounding it" from the bottom of the road (over 1/2 mile down a long hill, they are in a small plateau at the top). I guess he wanted to give me a muffler ticket too.

I told him too bad it's a stock muffler.

my e30 is running just a straight pipe back from a collector after the headers.

I only use it for AutoX so I dont really care how loud it is. Its not that bad until you hit about 4000rpms then it screams like a mod car.

My old WRX would set off alarms and scare small children. Soccer moms would run and hide. But appearantly wasnt loud enough for the lady that rear ended me at like 80mph. :evil:

Nice and quiet inside. 90mm Remus tips. Custom front section and M50 stock Exhaust manifolds. I have been looking a eu facherkrummer unit but they always seem to go for way to much.

When I had the m20, I was running stock manifolds with a DEC cat and Stromung exhaust. The car was loud as fuck but it sounded awesome.

After droping of a friend one night, he later told me his father asked him:

"Who has the motorcycle?"

LOL!

My dad told me he could hear my exhaust from a mile away. He figured that from judging how many turns I had to make going through the streets to get to our house. Sure enough, it was almost a mile.

I really miss that exhaust note. :(

Now I'm running factory E36 stainless manifolds, stoc E36 exhaust, and E30 supersprint. It's quiet, and classy but still has a nice tone when you step on it. However, it does not RIP like the other setup. Once I get a DD, I'll go for something insane again.

I was whomping on my throttle going to a friends house, and when I arrived he was standing out side. He told he me could hear me like 30 secs ago, and I guess about 1/2 a mile. I was shocked because my exhaust is factory and my intake is swisscheesed. Sometimes it gets annoying if I'm in 1st or 2nd driving around, after about 4k with the throttle down, it's just loud inside the car.

So basically mine is the S52 headers, a collector into a Borla XR1 acting as a center resonator, back to nothing. Just one bigass tube.

Maybe run a second one to quiet it down or trade out the borla for a racing cat.

I think it will sound a lot better coming off a straight-6 turning 7500. ;)

well we shall see its is tolerable. Its in the center of a full stainless pipe so maybe the heavier SS will deaden sound coming into the car a bit. I personally coudnt give a shit about the people behind me. I just dont want girls bitchin or anything.

If anything since its in the middle I could use it as a resonator and run something else behind it to muffle a bit more. Maybe a second one.
