A Rodney Dangerfield soundbite I heard on the radio this morning....

"Even on the day I was born I got no respect. The doctor said to my mother, 'I'm sorry ma'am, I did everything I could.....but he pulled through.'"

    RIP the king of self-deprecation.

Here are a few good ones:

I tell ya when I fly, I don't get no respect. I took one of those cheap flights, no frills. I finished eatin' and had to do the dishes. And I tell ya I got no confidence in the pilot. When he makes a left turn he puts his hand out.

I said to one girl, "Come on, honey, I'll show you where it's at." She said, "You better, 'cause the last time I couldn't find it."

Oh, when I was a kid, when my parents went shopping, they always took me with them - that way they could park in a handicapped section.

I'm trying a new diet now. The diet is Viagra and prune juice. I tell ya, I don't know if I'm coming or going.

I'll tell you one thing, I know how to satisfy my wife in bed, yeah, I leave.

      This is from his book:

It's hard to believe now, but prior to Caddyshack Dangerfield wasn't a big movie star. Nor, for that matter, did he make any real money from the film. As he explains: "It actually cost me money to do Caddyshack. I had to give up at least a month's work in Vegas. So it cost me $150,000 to do the movie, and they only paid me $35,000. People think I've made a fortune off reruns, merchandising, and stuff like that, but I got nothing: $35,000; that was it. My part in Caddyshack did get me into doing movies, though, so I guess it paid off in the end.
