This. Sometimes though I think it’s cool because it’s meant to be a performance car. Then the coffee between my legs spills and fricassees my nuts for the hundredth time. Or spills between the passenger seat and console.

On the other hand, in the 6 e30s I’ve had I’ve not had a single issue with drip rails and keep seeing complaints about them coming off. Also only have had one or two lock actuators fail.

This right here. The e30 chassis can handle much more power, especially with modern sticky tires.

My expectations for easy and cheap power were forever ruined by growing up with american V8s.

The door locks are crappy, the drip rail trim is flimsy and a pain in the ass and the door seals were of substandard quality from the factory and are very expensive to replace. The door seals on my Volvo were fine and it was a lot older than my E30.

My constant shitty idle after 3.5 years of owning my E30. Every plug, wire and DME related sensor has been replaced. I've got maybe 3 other parts it could be.

Still, I love my sassy girl. Even if she throws a tantrum here and there.

That's a tough one for me because I have driven absolutely no other car since 1994 - I have had no other car registered other than E30s since then. Before that I had a 1974 2002. I guess I have not been irritated by anything!

    Very few, but:

    Central locking always seems iffy.

The retractable antenna was always a poor design.

The reset on the inspection/etc. always seemed odd.

Never liked the included jack that came in the trunk.

Compared to most other cars though, this model has so few irritations. It's not perfect, but it's 90% there.

Here's what bugs me about mine:

    1. Airbag 2-piece knee panel seems to come loose.

    2. Cartridge style front strut housing, the e36 style strut assembly is much nicer to remove and install since no ball joint have to be separated.

    3. Dash material that cracks.

    4. Oddball parts becoming NLA from BMW.

Otherwise I can't complain too much, as I still drive them after all these years!
