    Glad you got it sorted!

Over last weekend I bought the Walbro as a backup if the TRE turned out to be the problem. I can't say I've loved TRE's responses to some simple questions earlier, and anticipated if their pump was bad, the warranty process was going to take longer than I wanted to mess with. I left the decision to pull the trigger on that with the shop, and they ultimately decided to swap in the Walbro. Now I hear the pump prime when I turn the key, and while it does make a low hum, the sound of the motor mainly drowns it out. At some point I'm planning to put some sound deadening in the car anyway.

But the car is back to its enthusiastic self - I'm super happy with it!

The Tire Rack reviews show them to be very good in Wet and Dry (9.1 in both) and pretty good (8.4) in Winter/Snow (which should be fine for North Carolina) and very good (8.7) for Comfort. Not bad but not great for Treadwear (8.0), but I can live with that for the price, especially given they'll only be on the car five or six months a year.
    Good to know! Thank you.

I have seen the circled hose cause hard to diagnose fuel pressure issues on multiple occasions so I wanted to mention it since you recently replaced your pump.

As it turns out, there's a crack right there... Guess we'll see if that's the only issue...

I really appreciate the insight - I'll swing by my shop tomorrow...

I just replaced all the fuel lines - will re-check it's submersible, but 97% sure it was...

Since the car got back from the shop after the conversion to the single high-pressure pump I've had what may be three problems:

Had what felt like fuel starvation when I tossed it hard on an onramp. At some point soon I'll take it back to the shop to make sure the foot is as low in the tank as possible.
There's a long-crank-no-start happening. Cycling the key a couple times seems to help, but not always. My shop wondered if there's a check valve somewhere that kept the fuel from migrating back to the tank after the car is off.
There's what feels like a vibration/stutter in the throttle

Looking back at the info I have and a quick check with Mike, this ~130K motor likely has original plugs, coils and injectors. Since so much of the rest of the car is fresh (and the rest of the fuel system is new), I decided to throw some parts at it:
    • new Bosch 4 pintle injectors (or based on another thread I saw, 1 pintle/4 squirters)
    • new Dinan coils (supposed to have 10% more energy FWIW)
    • NGK-3199 spark plugs

I sorta-doubt the FPR is bad, but went ahead and got one of those too. Will have it just in case or as a spare. Various chaos at home these days, but trying to carve out a chance to get it all in...

    These coils feel extra-beefy...

Someone said these are actually 1 pintle, 4-nozzle injectors. IDGAF as long as they're even slightly better than stock...

As in Fuel Injection rated? I can't remember the numbers, but the rating exceeded the stock Continental hose.
