Do you know what object was left on the freeway?

      Thanks everyone!

I spoke with an insurance rep and they said I may be able to file a claim under uninsured motorist since I do have that coverage. I have to talk to an actual claims person later today.

Whether it's covered or not Im gonna fix it and probly sell it, I really need a bigger car for all of my photography equipment.

      sshin:
It is the ratcheting unit that semi's use to strap the loads down, I believe they are removable and supposed to be held in with a locking pin. This was on 5 south where 4 merges on the south end of Stockton.

Spoke to you today, in Hayward at "THE" place. Now I know what you were talking about, when you mentioned the winch/tie downs.

Dude this would totally ruin me, I cant even afford used tires for my car, I would have to park that thing and permanantly ride my bike. I feel sorry for you.

Well I got a 95 m3 rack in today that I got from a salvage yard, had to do some tie rod swapping, and I think it may be a bum rack. I noticed when I was swapping the tie rods that the rack was hard to move, installed in the car and it kinda sticks on center. Once I get about 1/8 of a turn going it's fine, but center feels kinda sticky.

Not sure what to do now, I did a alignment using boards and have about 1/4" toe in. I don't want to go pay for a full alignment and wait to see I'd the stick clears up. Any one have experience with something like this?

Other than the sticking issue the car drives fine, I also replaced the tie bar that goes across the tunnel and am trying to decide if I want to fix the bumper or not.
