chip it, lower it, put some nice wheels on it, and you have yourself a nice-looking daily driver with a little more pep than the average 325e. later, when/if you want to purchase a newer model, just swap the wheels over (maybe suspension) and you're good. etas are easy. anything you swap out in favor of cosmetic upgrades try to sell on ebay, you should make a little change back. just don't make yourself a money pit if you don't want to drive it the rest of your life. you won't get the money back you put into it.I retired my E30 for now...

I'd say put some money in a savings account so if anything goes wrong in the next couple of months you can fix it and not be walking. Spend that couple of months getting to know the car, reading up on here and planning what you want to do. Then start replacing things like bushings, hoses, timeing belt, etc.

Just curious what do you guys think about this? My mom bought this. Can't say I like it, that much. This being her 7th BMW, I assumed she's have better judgement when buying it, so I didn't go to the dealer with her.

I have another question. This will surely embaress the hell outa me, but it's gotta be done somewhere. Where can I find (online) a body kit for my 1987, 325. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a simple one, to add a taste of class to the car. What do you guys suggest for some rims on the same car? I currently roll on them stock bad boys.. I figured I'd pump some blood in this thread instead of makin a new one.

you'll be hard pressed to find a good body kit for an early model. pretty much all of them look like shit with the exception of the bmp one, but that one will come with more waves than the north shore pipeline. if you've got the money, (it will undoubtedly cost more than your car) spring for it and get it professionally cut, fitted and installed. if not, live with it, save some money and sell it for enough money that you can buy a newer model with plastic bumpers. as far as wheels go, it's pretty much the same ordeal. the ones that are easy to find look gay as all hell. the good looking wheels (AZEV, BBS, MM, Borbet, SSR, MasItaly ;) , Kahn, etc etc) are going to be EXTREMELY difficult to find. the offset required for the e30 pretty much limits you to a 60 dollar 15" generic chrome plated swirly shit tornado wheel or a 200 buck a pop clean-styled wheel. The good thing is, if you buy a newer model, you can just swap your wheels right over :)I retired my E30 for now...
