Honestly, I'm really not meaning to fight or argue. I just want to know what makes an LS1 superior to the CA-t. Then I'll have something to talk about with the guys around the water cooler tomorrow at work.
Dude, you're picking on the only valid point butt pirate makes.

An LS motor would destroy a CA, any given day. The difficulty, fabrication and extra cash it takes to swap an LS in an e30 engine bay is the only reason why an LS swap is not so popular.

There was no more clear proof as I saw a battle of 240sx's at D1.... SR vs LS1. The LS1 had 500whp on tap at any given RPM range. That car drove like it had it's own drift button. And that's still like barely pushing the motor.

A CA that competes with that LS1 would need to have twice the money invested, and would be like a crack addict on the edge of a massive breakdown. You'd be running C16, possibly methanol, you'd need a huge turbo so you'd only make 500whp on your last half of the tach RPMs, making the car stupid hard to drive around a track.

But more on point of this thread. Assbradley needs to stop posting.

    Everyone else resume thoughts.

But I do think that stingrays are classy. And I'd take a corvette over a 240 any day of the week.
So you dont actually think that the LS1 is any better than the CA-t, but you got wood thinking of a Vette and decided that you needed to mention the motor from it which you dont even particularly like?

        Cool, now I know.

And Stingray's arent classy, they are the one of the most stereotypical redneck cars of all time. If you can explain what is classy about Stingray's, I'll be impressed.

I vote you to be stripped of your roundels.
You didn't notice it was a little short?

Kudos to you for being unique, I liked the old spoiler though.

Nah I'm actually not really picking at him, even if it seems that way. I know a lot about the LSx family of motors, but I know nothing at all about the CA-t, where it comes from, and what it is good for. All I know is that it is a 4-pot that displaces 1.8 litres, according to this thread. He seemed pretty passionate about the LS1 in comparison, so I wanted to know why.

I really just wanted to know more about the CA-t without hitting the "Google" button. I figured he knew better than I did, but it looks like he's just a Vette fan boy.

Erick, thanks for the quick input about the motors though. I've "drifted" quite a few personal n/a vehicles as well as a few of my friends cars, but have never drifted a turbo car. I've always thought that the turbo would make it a bit tougher to drive than a torquey n/a motor, but havent had the chance to try it for myself. A friend just finished up putting a 302 (or something similar from a Cobra Mustang) into his RX-7. That's all I ever needed to know about drifting a V8 equipped car, it's perfect. Torque everywhere with instant throttle response.

When you couldnt answer my simple question about your opinion of the pros and cons of each after I asked 3 times. You mentioned the LS1 in the first place, so I thought you'd be able to mention how the CA-t stacks up against the LS1, because I really know nothing about the CA and you seemed informed.
