    fyi- Ely I just sold this car for $3500, I put it in a photo ad magazine and received 150+ calls on it. The next day a guy drove it away after giving me $3500 in cash. I probably could have gotten more! This word goes out to all you who told me I was a fool for dumping that much effort into a 318i - apparently people like them and will pay for a nice one! I had $1600 total into the car. Thanks for all the nice comments guys.

      Her husband is renowned BMW restorer Art Simonds, so I suspect it was as much of a restoration exercise as a labor of love. I've seen the car and the quality of work is impeccable and its her daily driver! (If I find a pic I'll post it)

                i did a double take when i saw that in the mag... it's a crazy conversion
