The Franken-Stroker ball is rolling. I got the m20b23 head all cleaned up and inspected today along with an excursion in both my and my dad's garages. Looks like the build list is gonna be:

    -m20b23 (323i) head
    m20b25 valve springs (double)
-m20b23 (264 degree) or m20b25 (256 degree) cam (I'm really up in the air about this, I have both sitting on my bench)
-m20b27 injectors, intake, bottom-end, and other peripherals

If you'd like to comment/complain/question/bitch I've got a thread for it in the m20 section...

Also, my 'new' wheels finally went for powder-coat this morning. I hope to have rubber on them and mounted this weekend. And Bosch smilies should be showing up on my door-step any day now.

Nope, I'm going with the complete eta intake.

I know that it will cut flow, but for one, its what I have available and, two for some reason I really have the desire to build as good a motor as possable yet make the thing look as completly stock and mundane apperance wise as I can (aside from all the euro accoutrements). I want people to ignorantly look at my car as 'just another eta'. That may sound wierd, but it sounds good in my head.

                Smilies!

My Bosch Smilies came in last night and I got them all mounted and wired this afternoon. Unfortunatly one of my city-light and one of my high-beam bulbs are burnt, so I guess I can't really verify my work on those quite yet. The rest work great though...

Thanks! Where in the South Sound are you? I'm running between Kent and Dupont pretty much every weekday. I'm sure we've crossed paths...

I'm around the Tacoma region but a bit East/North of Tacoma itself. I haven't commuted to an actual job in about 5 months due to lay offs.

Definately hope to run into you sometime though!

Well, you know what car to look for...

As soon as I get her running I hope to bring her to cofee n' cars in Tacoma regularly again. If she's not done next week, I'll probably be there in the Blue Cooper next week regardless.

                                Shat!

Well, I had the 'new' b23 head completly stripped and ready to assemble with new valves, guides, springs and seals and then I figured, "Hey, I should get this thing as clean and shiny as possable before I go any further..."

Two cans of cleaner and a lot less carbon later I go to start assembling and there is a nice crack staring me in the face between the #5 intake valve seat and the spark-plug port. Pissed, I start looking further and there is the exact same crack (but not as apparent) in the #4 cylender too.

The cracks dont go all the way to the coolant jacket which I guess is why they didn't fail pressure but shit. I guess I'm more concerned about how they run underneath the valve seats. Anyone ever lost a seat on an m20?

Either way I'm trying to source another -731 head.
