You might try pulling in the bottom sides of the lip... I did it to mine, and now it looks much less like a cow catcher. Just a suggestion. The car looks great though.

The fact that no euro cars had it isn't true. I have owned and worked on E30's in Europe seeing I spent half my life there.

Try autocross your car without the mat. Big difference!
so, 318 cars don't have it cause they don't have the "thicker" insulated carpet either--- cheaper-- just like the price of the car.
its all for sound deadening and comfort.

and I don't care if you lived yours and jesus's life in europe-- "GERMAN" E30s didn't get that thick ass tar in the trunk
I do currently live and work on e30s in europe--- and have probably owned more e30s than you have seen in your life.

back on topic-- car is looking great.

                      4-door baller status.

it would look killer on some weaves!!

You should paint the lip to match that spoiler. faded trim just isnt cool.

Nice progress. I am surprised you haven't touched up the rocker panel fading yet. The E30 rockers are first sprayed with rockerguard, then body color paint, then the black paint. So, unless your rockerguard layer is worn through, you can just refresh it with as simple as black tremclad. There is no need to use rocker spray at the first sign of the black paint coming off, unlike what many people will tell you.

I've got some taurus skirts sitting in my garage. I haven't finished sanding them down yet. I'm going to paint them black to match everything else.

I did end up painting the lip too. I've been meaning to take more pictures, but I keep putting it off.

Since my last post I've replaced the transmission, bought a spare grill and painted it black, I painted the lip, replaced the cracked foglight, put in a CD player, and replaced the roundels. I bought some tan leather sport seats for the front and I'm still looking for a rear seat to match. I took out the rear spring pads to level out the ride height a little bit. It's pretty subtle, but it evened it out nicely.

I'll post up some updated pics soon. :)
