If you're shooting for 450hp and you have the money (which it looks like you do) just ditch the M20 right now and don't bother putting any work into it. S50/52 swap, turbo/supercharger, and a nice tune should get you there, but at no cheap cost.

I'm going to agree, other than the bottom end nothing on the eta motor is a good base to start with. the engine harness is useless for PnP standalone engine management, all of the intake side of the motor is garbage, the head is worth more as scrap... you could probably cobble something together but it will be a bigger headache than a straight swap.

With the condition of the current engine and your budget ideas I think a boosted M50 sounds like a good plan for you.

I have been searching my ass off on here since I am an E30 newb but not a newb to BMW's, VW's, Mini's and Fords. But thank you for the advice. I am on 26 car forums at the moment and it is an up road battle.

and I believe its S50 goodness! So if anyone can point me in the right direction for a list of parts it would be appreciated. Plus, Im gonna pull the PS rack.....:D Its a 95 325i swapped already. Just doesnt have a trans.....boooooo

Pull motor and get rid of the e36 then start the swap into the e30.

IT IS AN S50 MOTOR right???? What cover is wrong? How can I tell its an S50/S52? And that was my plan with the swap. I dont want the E36.
