And, I'm back. Yay.
So, where was I? Lets see... After getting all of the old subframe bushing remnants out of the car, it was time to start putting it back together. List of new bits in the rear includes: bearings, TA bushings, subframe bushings, medium case s3.73, dif mount bushing, calipers, pads, and rotors.
Eventually, it looked like this:
Ahhhh, shinny new bits.
Then it looked like this:
Suspension hadn't settled yet.
Here you can see the lip added, and the fog light put back in.
Annnd, a quick shot of the new exhaust:
Will have more soon. Just happy to be able to drive it. Now to get the toe set, and the stereo finished!Comment

Did some stereo work last night. Finally got the wires ran through the door, the panels finished, and speakers mounted. To put my JL 6" in the doors, I ended up needing a 1/2" spacer. I was worried how that would effect aesthetics, but ended up not looking to bad at all.
Here we have the cuts made, to fit the speaker.
Wiring is soooo much easier, when you have the right tools! This is for feeding wires through grommets and other fun places. Life saver!
Final result. Still need to put some covers on. The screen that came with the JLs is missing, as I had these in my Miata and never used them. Will have to pick something up. I put the crossovers in the factory speaker location.
I also got a good start on Stereoinstaller1's sub box. Its not installed yet, but hopefully will be by this weekend.
So, that is the good news. The bad news is that the dif has to come back out. Sounds like the bearings are worn, and the pinion is leaking copious amounts of fluid. :( Time for a rebuild. Going to replace all bearing and seals while in there. Lock up seems fine, so won't have to do the clutches too, thankfully.
And, just because I haven't since I got the car back on the ground, here are some pics of the car itself. Car needs a bath bad. Hope to give a decent wash today, while the weather is nice.

I can has music!
I am soooo glad I put the speakers in the doors. While doing it, I started wondering if it was really worth the effort. No question in my mind, now. System is using a cheap little Clarion DB285USB, some JL 6" components powered by my Eclipse EA3422 amp, some random 6X9s that were in the car powered by the head-unit, and a JL W10 in Luke's box powered by my Alpine MRP-M350.
The sub, while 3 years old, has never been fired, so I am in the process of breaking it in. Gain on its amp is all the way down. Still, it is already providing an nice subtle fill on the low end. The JLs in the doors are sounding the best they ever have. Didn't have nearly as good low end performance in the Miata's doors. The front stage is set very well, with the rear 6X9 providing just enough fill in.
So, thanks to the forum for the door placement idea, and to Luke, for the great box. Looking forward to pushing that sub a bit more, to see what it can do.
Pretty much wrapping this up. Finally had the chance to set the toe, today. Only a couple of things left to do, really. Pull the dif for its rebuild, then reinstall it. Done that enough in the past couple of days, that its getting to be a pretty quick process. Have a factory air box and K&N to put on, so I can get rid of the stupid cone filter. Need to pick up some speaker covers for the JLs. Oh, and, hopefully, get some 15 wheels to put the new Dunlop Star Specs on. Then it will be just drive it for awhile.Comment

You're making me want to go ahead and put a stereo in my car.
But I can't bring myself to cut up houndstooth door panels.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Finally got my wheels back from refinishing. Ronal LS, done in graphite with polished lip. This is the final piece. For now.
Will post better pics once the car is clean. Just got back Sat. from a 3K+ mile trip in the car.Has quite a few bugs plastered across the front.
