So, to clarify, the car with a bashed-in a-pillar and bent chassis met its end going over a speedbump?

Oh well, I can admire the bond that you (or anyone for that matter) had with the vehicle, and it sucks that it met its fate the way it did; but I think it was quite unsafe to be rolling around for that period of time without once examining the chassis. Sure, people roll around in "totalled" cars all the time, but when you begin to notice that the shunt was affecting the tire wear, perhaps then was a good time to re-evaluate the car's status. In the end though, sucks to see it's dead; here's hoping the next project appeals to my tastes more than this one did.

    Cheers.

        Dear Mr. TDE30,

I enjoy reading your posts--they are marked by their mellifluous character, and truly reveal your superior intellect. Perhaps you ought to consider an avocation as a writer, such that you are allowed to paint word landscapes with powerful brushstrokes, instead of becoming a soulless corporate-type with your degree in business administration or whatever in which you've chosen to excel while at university.

        Your buddy,

        Just kidding; you suck.

Aww, Farbin, the feeling's mutual buddy.

Looking forward to further posts phrased like Nigerian e-mails.

Was this car whored more than a two dollar hooker with no gag reflex (Mr. blunt)? Yes. Was this car driven far longer than it should have been? Yes. But that still doesn't make it any less of a loss.

It's one of those universal things, giving the last rites to a car, a faithful servant, harnessing the energy of internal combustion, only occasionally complaining of the load it has to saddle. It matters not how much of a pile it is, or how polarizing a figure the owner was; a car is something slightly beyond a rusting pile of iron. This thread acknowledges that idea.

                        Peace.
