        The MRD-301 runs 350 Watts x 1 RMS at 2 Ohm. Not enough to power 2 12W3v2's.

Is that box made out of 3/8in plywood? That is the worst box EVER. You never ever ever EVER make a box out of plywood, let alone that thin.

The factory tests each amp and give rms on a sheet that is included with the amp. Even if it was only 350 the subs are 6 ohm. Not 2 or 4. And it is made out of 3/4in ply. Mabey you would like me to take a picture of the spec sheet on them. Im am just under optimum for them. The alpine is soon to be replaced by a jl 500/1 slash series amp. The alpine was used to power my Image dynamics 10 in. Im interested to know why you wouldnt build a box out of plywood if you would care to enlighten me on the subject. The box is totaly sealed and does not rattle or buzz.

Plywood is a very shitty box material. End of story Plywood is on average 1/2 as dense as the same thickness MDF. Plywood is also filled with imperfections and the laminations can vibrate loose.

You understand that at 6OHMS your amp is making alot less then 350watts right?

Plywood flex's and shit, if you are using wood use mdf. Some other people have used oak and pine and shit but thats weird show stuff.

400 watts for 2 w12v2's is underpowered. I use a 600 watt amp for one.

              How does the magnaflow sound.

              Sold it.

Plywood flexes too much and will resonante when it vibrates. For 2 12"s, you're going to want to use 1/2" MDF.

So were both of my sub boxes :x Stupid thieves. You're definitely gonna want to reconstruct it. Get some wood screws, wood glue, silicone sealant, and some polyester fiberfill (pillow stuffing).
A sheet of 3/4" MDF is sold at Home Depot for about 20-25 bucks a pop. You shouldn't have to spend over 40 dollars to construct a good box. Carpeting it will bring it to around 50. Follow all the specs outlined by JL, and USE the materials they recommend. Don't skimp out on stuff like this, it will end up falling apart or just degrade the sound quality. The box is essential to the woofer's operation.

Dude, I have that amp driving one 4 ohm sub and it feels a little underpowered. One 2 ohm sub is all it's designed to run.

                        Keep it slideways!!

You know what guys, I'm thinking the subs are dual 6 ohm (the W3V2's are D2 D4 or D6), and he's running the amp at 1.5 ohms.
