I think I hurt his feelings guys. Want a hug? Seriously, I never meant to piss anyone off.

As for the doors thing, maybe it's a 4-door issue. I've been in a few 4-door 325i/iX's, but never really took note of the latching. I'd even take a sound clip to show you the difference, it's startling. The eta's doors sort of just fall off the latch when you pull the handle, mine give a solid "thunk". Same deal when you close them.

I'd really like to know what you guys are doing to make your etas faster than i's, save stroking them. I just don't see it happening. And comparing a modded car to a stock car is fair how...? Add the same mods to the 325i and enjoy their dust. *shrug*

2 Door doors area also pretty long and heavy wouldn't that make them feel more solid?

Digital Mystikal compared a chipped 5spd i, to a normal probably hagard auto e how is that fair.

Anyway I don't care really I am in no sort of denial about my cars awsomeo powa!!

          Sold it.

In theory the 4-doors are supposed to be more solid because the door is better supported, its on the same supports but with a smaller door. The B pillar is also more centrally located IIRC.

Either way I just stand by the Eta being beat, it happens to the best of them. My Eta is more soild than the E30 M3s I have been in, its just a matter of seals and plastic parts and such. The steering wheel is comically big though.
            Im now E30less.

I call it "e30tech mentality" - if you talk about it enough on the internet, it becomes true.

                fuck e30 tech....

im not saying the ETA is a better car, we all know that is false.

i was just curious as to the point of his original post.

and mystikal, if you werent trying to start anything - i believe you. there is no need for this arguement. lets all be cool.

p.s. if i really thought my eta was better, would i be selling it for an i ?

Hey easy on the ETA's, my previous car was a 1978 cutlass supreme pretty much riding on the springs and weighing in at 3800+ pounds with a 260 V8 with 105 horsepower and 210 lbs ft, that car was a pig, so my ETA w/sport seats and leather with a sunroof instead of the musty cloth and headliner flapping in the wind was a welcome upgrade

haha, I had an 81.. only I had the V6 with over 200k and a cracked head. and the oil gulleys were all plugged.. ran it out of oil several times too (never knocked!). it still ran when I sold it too, for $700.

I don't think my car had 210ft-lbs. it felt closer to 80, by the time it got to the wheels.. no problem in the snow though. :)

My personal thoughts: Compared to my 318is that i had?? kicks the m42's ass all day... the eS had go from 1k rpms to the end, where the 318is seems like it should start to haul ass and the nothing happens (lots of noise, not a lot of momentum), this was especially true when nearing and over tripple digit speeds.... Compared to my old 325is: Not as much total power, but that car also had a nearly fresh motor. That said, i think the eS is just as much total fun to drive. With the right sort of modifications you can make most e30's fast, but they all do well what they're supposed to do well: Handle

Bleh, etas are slow. They can't come close to a 325i except for something stupid like 0-20 times.

Oh yea your car doesn't feel as solid most likely because it has been beat the hell out of, as Ryan said.
I retired my E30 for now...

                          325i's are overrated.
                          325e's are underrated.

For what they are, both are very good at what they do.

I really would like to drive an 325i but I dont know anyone with a 325i. I personally would like an i for the sake of more rev range and horsepower for bonsai top end runs on the highway, I know you going to say look in the tech topic but can you swap an i motor into an 84 325e fairly cheap??

Brilliant. Those 3 statements put together are the best example of describing i's and eta's.
