hey sorry for late reply, when in first at about 61/2 k it sits at about 50 - 55 kph so i dunno what that is in mph? but second is a bit sorter like 85 at same revs also when i bought the car was told the diff was rebuilt but to unkown specs? could have something to do with it! Anyways i just love to drive it(Pulls heaps of looks and sounds tuff, will find out more about the engine when i am gonna spend some good money on it!! :) ) and thanks for all you feedback has been very helpful!
Cheers Mark
Will post some pics soon!!!
So, what engine do you have??? Valve cover has BMW or Roundel? How many spark plugs do you have? How many spark plug wires? Any number of clues to number of cylinders.
You have an "i" cluster in an "e" with the "i" coding plug. You're not really revving to 7krpms, sorry to break this one to you.
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."
Yeah the kit needs work drove it back from sydney which is over 1000km of shithouse road with rooted front shocks so the front bar just got destroyed, anyways it will all look better over time, im not loaded so i cant just buy a car in perfect condition straight away. BMW's (e30s) are a bit more expensive over here than for you as we are just a little bit further away, thanks for your reply's i will take some engine photos when i get a chance.
Even if it is a eta i am happy with the way it drives. Im sure when all of you bought your first car it wasn't in immaculate condition!

even with an i tach, an eta won't look like it's revving up that high will it?
Why won't it? Imagine if you changed the eta tach face so it redlined at 10,000 RPM. As long as the eta coding plug/chip is in the cluster, the needle doesn't care what the face says. The driver will think his car is super fast but in reality it's still an eta.
I did this at my old job; I put a 325i tach face on the shop's eta loaner car and changed the badge to "325i" instead of "325e". Every single person that drove it said it was one of the fastest 325i's theyve ever driven.

'11 328i Sports Wagon - LeMans Blue Strictly Eta
very deceptive indeed, placebo effect rules all. My father once gave his friend 5 "OJ and vodkas" with no vodka and the guy passed out in the snow.
anyway, my tach on the 325i ends around 7k. If he were to rev his eta up to redline (unless it had the limit edited or removed) it still wouldn't hit 7 on the I tach. Whatever.
Mark,
My name is Don and I'm from the make a wish foundation. One of the children I work with has only one final request, and that's for you to describe or take a picture of your motor. It's a small request, and it would mean a lot to him if you could do it.
Thanks,
Don
