The s14 is too gutless for me. Only way I'll keep the s14 is if I put the new version of RMS' supercharger kit on it. I also don't want to keep the s14 for the fact that the maintenance/parts costs on it are so damn expensive.

The aluminum 3.0L m52 with all the goodies will be a much better starting point for me. ;)

Thanks everyone else for the kind words! :D

I'll probably get bored of the power pretty quick, so I want cams that will work well with a blower set-up. ;)

Was this car on ebay? I think I remember seeing it...the smurf valve cover and respray except for the engine bay is what I recall. Looked like a good deal though.

I think as long as you keep a high power engine in it form a bmw it'll be sweet in the end

+ alot. I'm far from a purist but m3s should be clean and simple (s14 or not)

build the s14 to 2.5 spec, drop it, nice wheels, good paint. keep the car classic... motor swaps rape resale and classic car value. if you want a motor swap car just build a normal e30...? thats what i've always thought but you obviously already did that so, guess i'm a little lost.

                        Welcome to the club! :)
At first I was like, .-- " once I get a e30 m3, I will swapp a S50B3X in there and have fun" .-- but then, when I go it, the more I use it, the more I like the torqueless s14! Well I have the turbo e30 in case I want power, but if this is the only car you have or can have, well do whatever you like it better. But try to keep the s14, it's the soul of the car, light weight high reving engine and with the blower kit RMS it will be awesome!

Looks very close to mine when I got it....

Yea. I mean i know people say m3s are insanely fun, but it seems like the s14 is part of that. If you have a thirst for power, just do a non M e30

The aluminum block is proving to be a much harder find then expected. If that falls through, then the new options are:

                                1. S54 swap within the next year

                                OR

                                2. The new version of the RMS supercharger kit for the s14, with the sexy cooler manifold, and cams.

Also, the Alpinas are going to take away from the performance of the car because of the tiny, staggered tire sizes I will have to run. I guess I'll have to settles for my 17x8.5 BBS RZs, with 245/40/17 all around :p

(Note tires pictured are 235/45/17 - way too big of sidewalls )

As far as paint is concerned, I'm torn between carbon black, and techno violet. Leaning towards the techno though, purple & gold look great.

More updates when we have spare time at the shop to work on the car.
