Just ordered a ZHP weighted shift knob from getbmwparts.com Hopefully it comes quick and I also found a leather handbrake boot and shifter boot which will also be here soon. The only bad news is, is that the fuel pump is starting to go:(. Car dies sometimes at idle and sometimes it feels like it loses power under load. Time for a new fuel pump pretty soon!

make sure you check the relays.

The first car I bought was a 91 318i 4dr 5-speed. In my opinion it was the best car to learn in. It handled well, had enough brakes to keep me alive, and had just enough power to have some fun with.

Congrats on the purchase, and keep it looking nice! And FWIW, I just picked up black Team Dynamics v. 1.3 off of bimmerworld, and they are sick. 13 lbs / wheel, and if I must say so myself, absolutely beautiful. They'd look pretty nice on your 318.

you're doing pretty well for high school dude, and it looks like you know how to take care of it as well.

kudos for being ahead of the game.

Just my luck, I go to turn the key and car doesn't start. There was no spark and no fuel. I played around with the relays and found out the check engine light wasn't going on with the key in the on position. Figured it was the shutoff relay so I played around with it for about 15 minutes and got it to start. Thank you for clearing that up selturk!

Mind posting some pics? I want some nice lightweight wheels but I'm not going to track it too often so it kind of defeats the purpose

So today I got my ZHP weighted shift knob, and my leather shifter boot and handbrake boot because the accordion was ruining the whole look of the interior.
Wow am I satisfied. The weighted knob makes such a nice difference and it also feels alot more sporty. Why couldn't bmw put these in from the factory!

Here is a full interior pic because I just noticed that I never showed you guys how clean it is!

Sorry for crappy pics, couldn't find the camera.

You REALLY need a better steering wheel! Check dude8383 's FS thread, he got a 270mm M-Tech II for a very good price and local!
