That second pair is amazing. They remind me of the Zissou Adidas from The Life Aquatic. I can't believe they never actually made them outside of production for the film.

Were they even cool?

I know a few of those guys personally, they're my friends on facebook and we trade/buy/sell parts regularly. Victor Van Tress (the guy who always dominated) is cool, he owns a few other cool 80s racecars.

Damn you had to have some $$ back in those days to drive cars like that! Fun times for sure, I was 19 in 1980 and drove a 1970 Chevelle gas hog...loved every minute of it!

Yes, I remember walking in the back lot at the dealer across the street in the dirt fenced lot picking out the exact red one I wanted. I always thought that was cool!

I've tried like CRAZY to track it down. Cant even say the way I even tried but crazy as it sounds, there is NO record of it on file ever! I owned that car for 7 years.
Tried running the plates with the higher ups and nothing comes back to an 86 BMW.

damn that sucks. i'll tell you this... i have pics of a lot of the vins of cars that i used to own. so i wouldnt have a problem if i looked for some of the previous car i had.

Cant find anything with the vin on it either.When I traded the car in for a new car I gave the dealer all the records. Sucks big time. would love to know if it is still on the road and where?
