always promised myself I'd have an m3 by the time I turned 30, but never actually believed I would. The e30 m3 was always my "If you could have any car in the morning" car.
I had my first e30 on the road when I was 19, '87 chrome more-door rightness, pimptastic

The chromie was a great start, but with an m10b18 under the bonnet its power was modest and its thirst for petrol was mind blowing.
So more power was needed, in the form of an Is. This white iS came up at good money so I took a chance on it. It was not mint but it was one of the fastest iS's about

This was my trusty steed for nearly 2 years until I had an urge for minty mintness. Next was the best e30 I've ever owned, the perfect spec for me, with the best chassis setup I could want. I'd love to still have it, it was the perfect iS.
To cut a very long story short I came across this, which threw everything up in the air. I had been happy as a pig in shit with cash in the bank and a minty iS. At first glance I said "Fook that, thats way too much work and money for me", but it was still an m3..

The accountant in my head said stay away, but I couldn't
Luckily the following had been already done..
New front wings
New rear quarters
new inner arches
new outer sills
new boot floor/ spare wheel well
new rear panel
new vin stamped scuttle
MINT doors/ bonnet/ bootlid
Front of the car is as new, chassis legs are perfect & rust free (even by the manifold is spotless)
The standard of the work was flawless.
The engine hadn't run in 5 years which was worrying, but I took the risk on the sellers word that 3.5k had been spent on it before it being parked for bodywork.
The gods were looking down on us when we got it home, changed the petrol, cleaned the injectors, and it fired up and idled perfectly
So onto the mess that was the body. I took the chance of spraying the car myself, but with the help of my father it turned out very well. This saved a fortune.
The only wheels for the job were the 17" bbs rc's, which were the biggest single expence of the whole project, but totally worth it.

Not bad for 2 days work a week over 4 months. So I finally have an m3, and all before the age of 30. I have to wait til July when I turn 25 to insure it though
